Dude better focus on making a roster spot. If he wants to be a true teammate like he says he need to be as little of a distraction as he can.

You think he doesn't think he should have been drafted higher?

Of course he does. They all do. But he's a 2nd round draft pick, so he can play.

And did it not occur to the Mel Kipers of the world that maybe the reason Sam was so productive his senior year is because teams put their focus on keeping Ealy out of their backfield? Never heard it mentioned once. Probably because if you say anything that diminishes Sam's numbers, you'd be labeled a bigot and a homophobe.

Not sure how you come to this conclusion when his draft stock was as a 4th rounder pre-coming out and went down to 5th-7th based on his combine, so there was plenty said that diminished Sam after he came out.

Of course he does. They all do
Ok, so why is it ONLY a big issue for so many on the MSB with Sam?

You don't think Colston thought he should have been drafted higher?

Sam thinking he should have gone higher isn't that big of a deal to me, because every single one of them think that. What irks me is the way the media implies it's because he's gay. It's not. It's because his measureables were horrible and he doesn't really fit in the NFL today because he's not big enough to be a run stopper and not fast enough to be a speed rusher.

That part I'm ok with...not that me being ok with it means anything

But reading through this thread, people are giving Sam hell for saying he should have been drafted higher, but in reality, they're only doing so because...well there's a few reasons, but it's pretty silly.

Wasn't he actually Co-DPOY with CJ Mosley, a first round draft pick?

This is correct.

A 7th round pick who was an excellent college player thinks he should have been drafted earlier?
I'm shocked

Every single person drafted this year not named Jadaveon Clowney thinks he should've been drafted higher.

It's going to be funny when he gets cut seeing all the handwringing that the rams are going to have to do to avoid the PR hit.

Is Marques Colston gay? No. Did he blame not being drafted until the 7th round on being gay? No. You are arguing the wrong point and have been for awhile. Shut the frick up.

Something about his statements, and his celebration after being drafted (if that's the right way to put it), tells me that he's going to be in everyone's faces with the sexuality stuff.

He knew the cameras were on and obviously wouldn't tone it down. I say that because most male/female couples(draftee and girlfriend/wife) would not have done what they did on camera. He's daring the public and the media to make an issue out of his sexuality.

If he truly wanted for his sexuality to be a non-issue, he would do all in his power to not let the issue be raised, both through his words and actions.

For a guy that claims he just wants to play football, he sure is bringing plenty of attention to himself already.
