You and your four up voters really think Aaron would leave Philly over having arbitration now? LOL. Aaron will be paid well by Middleton when the time comes. And AJ has raised a straight-up man, not a vindictive child.

So a straight up man doesnt get mad when someone tries to frick them and pay them less than he is worth?

Hey, I agree he deserves a raise. But, to assume he walks away in a few years because he agreed to terms, or may only get so much Arb dough, is silly.

Aaron is a very classy and loyal man. And appears all Phillies. Plus, is the only great homegrown Phillies farm arm in ages..Middleton and Co are gonna pay him a monster deal in time.

Why leave the soon-to-be Hoskins-Harper-Trout Pain Train?

He seems pretty calm

“This is baseball, the business part of the game,” Nola said before accepting the Professional Athlete of the Year award at the 115th annual Philadelphia Sports Writers Association dinner. “No hard feelings between us. Whatever happens happens. We’re just going to go through it.”

If that was the case plenty of players would have left their respective teams for lower offers through the arbitration process

Ken Rosenthal Verified account @Ken_Rosenthal

Harper and/or his agent, Scott Boras, have met with a number of clubs in recent days, including second and third meetings in some cases, sources say. No indication a deal is close.

Could be interesting with Gabe Kapler over the next several days, I read a little bit of the story and wondering how he will be punished. He claims he followed the HR guidelines and was not informed of the sexual assault

Bottalico and Seidman now think Harper returns to Washington, and that Philly will not top Nats 300M by enough to leave a comfort zone into a new unknown. They also think Machado is either SD or CWS.

Bottalico also suspects that Phillies will not go crazy overspending, in saving, for a future attempt to get Trout.

Fine by this Phanatic, even if it means cellar this next year..nobody in the retooled NL East is beating Bost/Hou/NYY..maybe not TB, LAD, Mil, Stl too? But, if Harper returns to Wash they are the chalk, followed by Atl, then NYM/Phi.

Where exactly is the evidence of bad blood between Bryant and the Cubs?

And the contract structure is a CBA problem, not a team problem.

How the heck are we 1 week away from reporting and the 2 biggest guys aren’t signed? Boras screwed this up?

Players want 10 year contracts and owners don't want to give them.

10 year contracts are ridiculous, I don't care who the player is or how young he is.

What's wrong with a 3-5 year contract? I would think it makes a lot of sense for both the owner and the player.

But what do I know?

Waiting for the best possible deal. It only takes one team to overpay.

Possible proposed rules changes discussed between MLBPA and MLB
quote:

A three-batter minimum for pitchers
A universal designated hitter
A single trade deadline before the All-Star break
A 20-second pitch clock
The expansion of rosters to 26 men, with a 12-pitcher maximum
Draft advantages for winning teams and penalties for losing teams
A study to lower the mound
A rule that would allow two-sport amateurs to sign major league contracts
