I have followed him a while and always seem to enjoy aspects of his podcast and news but yes I def think that he relishes the role of being the thorn. He seems to always try to get under the skin of the higher ups just for the sake of doing it. Lots of reporters want a story or to get the news but he took on Dana White on purpose so that he would stand out. He seems to do that a lot and it comes across as wormy at times but he thinks he is doing a great service. He already knew what the most likely response to his question about Trump would be and its not news or MMA news but he wants some gotcha soundbite to promote himself.

Ariel’s golf-voice commentating at weigh ins is the best thing in MMA.
Seriously though, although he asks those types of questions here and there, his stuff is the best produced and delivered in MMA. His studio interviews are really good.

Ariel is a throwback to old school journalism, where they asked the question or broke the news without worrying about hurting someone's feelings. He even dresses the part.

Update: I am currently on a crusade to get Ariel fired and shunned by the UFC forever. If Dana White gets back in touch with me, I'll let everyone know.
