By not kicking OOB, you essentially lost a time out. Now in best case, you get it back with roughly 20 seconds left.

They couldn’t kick it OOB you goobers 
Minny would simply take the penalty yards and make them re-kick from further back making it now impossible to beat the 2 minute warning. Only hope was going out the end zone

Showed the replay on Manningcast and Kevin O’Connell and the sideline players were telling the guy to run it out as he was looking at the sideline.

Yeah you are absolutely correct. I forgot they can still force a re-kick.
