I basically think we are fricked unless we get Shaka Smart.
Not actually fricked, but we are a top 10 program with donovan... Without an elite coach, I don't think our basketball program is strong enough to be a perennial tourney team and consistent final 4 threat.

It would definitely suck if Donovan leaves after Marshall, Barnes, Shaka, etc... all get settled with new contracts wherever they may end up. Not sure what Florida would do at that point.
Looks like that's what might happen, too.

We'd be ok. Donovan has changed the culture, the passion exists at UF now for a strong basketball program to continue to thrive. It might take some adjustment, but he has built something sustainable.
There may be a reason this Smart-Texas courtship is dragging out. If he knows there is a strong chance Donovan is gone, he probably waits for the UF job.

I dont think anything is sustainable in the SEC outside of UK. No other school cares enough.

I'd be okay with it.

I disagree, UF fans care a ton about the basketball program and the athletic department will continue to invest heavily into the program whether or not Donovan is still coaching here. I don't think it guarantees anything, but the program won't falter from lack of interest.
