Idk what you're relating to, but Meeks isn't worth 6.3 per.

I mean that is basically the only deal that has been announced

Is Jodie Meeks an average player in the NBA?
Posted on 7/1/14 at 5:20 pm to brgfather129
He is a shooter who has only averaged more than 9 points a game twice in his 7 year career

That's not what I asked.

I don't know what to tell you then.

Free agent Spencer Hawes met w/ Warriors' GM Bob Myers in LA, who has trade exception to use; meeting with Doc Rivers shortly, sources say.

Generally speaking, a guy like Meeks is not worth that amount of money. However, Detroit needs more shooters so to them he is worth that amount.

I will gladly eat crow if similar players sign for similar amounts. As it stands right now that is a ridiculous contract.

Is Jodie Meeks as good as Wilson Chandler?
ETA: other players who have a salary ~6 mil per year include: JR Smith, Robin Lopez, Gerald Henderson, Jarrett Jack, Channing Frye, Kyle Korver, Wes Matthews, Kyle Lowry (he obviously outplayed that contract).
Note, I didn't use any players on rookie deals. I don't feel like Meeks is on the level of those players. Maybe you disagree.

What does this have to do with anything?

Check my edit, they have similar salaries.

Update 6:36 p.m.:
• The Charlotte Hornets have "absolutely" expressed interest in their own free agent, Josh McRoberts, according to Rick Bonnel of the Charlotte Observer.
• Spencer Hawes has met with the Golden State Warriors and will turn his attention to talking to the Los Angeles Clippers next, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Meeks is a below average player. Happy?

So basically they've wiped out all of their cap room, unless they can dump Josh Smith and/or they sign and trade Monroe. Sounds like a shitty situation to put yourself in, for Jodie fricking Meeks.

I don't think it's much of a stretch to put Meeks production last year right up there with those players.

Worst Laker team in basically franchise history that played zero defense and played at an insane pace.
Great sample size there.

No, they didn't. They still have ~7 million including Monroe's cap hold.

What were his efficiency numbers? TIA.
