Exactly, who is going to stop them... certainly not the NCAA

Not sure what to think about this, but it could be the beginning of the end of college football as we know it.

Nah, it will make CFB better.

Lets just let this play out. I know everybody thinks this is going to lead to the wild wild west for college football, but it could be the exact opposite. Now that these issue have been acknowledged and voted upon, maybe enforcing these rules will be easier, and the punishments stricter for violators? Now we will have a set of rules and governing body that EVERYONE voted for and hopefully we be held accountable for. This could be the best thing to happen to college football. Change is scary, but im not going to stress about this.....at least not yet lol!

Of course you're not going to stress about this. Your group gets to make their own recruiting rules. While we (the smaller schools) will have even more of a disadvantage.

This is what they want you to think, but eventually it will trend toward paying players, not having any academic or character requirements, and free for all when it comes to recruiting

As if this isnt already happening in college football??? Lets hope now that they will have difened rules and a governing body that EVERYONE voted for, that this will actually help college football with issues that needed to be addressed. Step back from the ledge.

What does this mean?

That the state of Alabama runs college football as we know it.

Which is why the Big 5 isnt going to play outside the Big 5 anymore. There is a thread about this too. That is going to happen as a reslut from this. Relax, the small schools will now be able to compete on a fair and even playing field with schools in the same boat.

and the NFL and it's owners will continue to laugh as they use and abuse the NCAA, College football players, and coaches. Their own bitches, that they control, and do not pay a dime for training.

Oh, so we're gonna lose all of our money games too? Great. And by the way, recruits like it when we say we have a Big 5 team on our schedule. They enjoy playing teams they've heard of before.

Isn't that already what it is? How many players were drafted from other leagues (not college football) in this last draft?

I stated this in the other Big 5 thread, does anybody think this is going to start another round of expansion? There are some major programs out there that dont want to be left out of this scenario...UConn, Cincinnati and BYU come to mind.

Relying on a Big 5 school to make money should tell you all you need to know about your program. On the flip side, our recruits say "great we have to play Lousiana-Lafayette". Face it, the havs are heading to where they need to go!

All I'm saying is, dont tell me everything is gonna be okay. This is bad for the schools outside the Big 5.

I disagree. This will be great for college football fans. We should get better games out of it.

In the short term I agree. Long term, this is bad.

Dude you're coming off really condescending.

And how can the NCAA say P5 schools can make their rules but everyone else can't? NCAA just signed off on its own death warrant b/c at lest 2 and maybe 3 G5s are going to want to make their own rules too. (AAC, MWC for sure)
