I think some may have misunderstood that statement with the way it was phrased. I don't think he was implying that he missed child births or weddings related to the Super Bowl. Rather, I gathered that he meant that he had missed weddings and child births in his life, but that he had no intention of ever missing the Super Bowl. The parallelism in the statement, to me, implies a sentimental connection between those types of life events but not a literal chronological link.
