griffey was my favorite as well...

its sad that he couldnt do a ripken and play in the all star game.

it really got me thinking about how once we get to a certain age, sports change for us all.

i dont idolize players anymore... mainly because they are my age or slightly older or younger.

but Griffey will always be an idol.

Probably the sweetest swing in the history of the game.

He was everything that is right about baseball. If he could have stayed healthy we could maybe be talking about him breaking Aaron's home run record and not Bonds

He is my favorite baseball player and last summer I got to see him hit a homerun on his bobble head night in the only MLB game I have ever been to.

No doubt. I still follow the Mariners and the Reds just because he was on both. Griffey might be my all-time favorite player in sports and I don't even like baseball. He is the man!

i met Griffey his first spring training with the Reds in Tampa. We happened to be at the same hotel he was staying at. He pulled up in his Range Rover and he sat and talked to us for 15 minutes and signed autographs. It was awesome
