I like the Kelly Green. They should stick with it and form an identity beyond "our identity is having no identity."

These are definitely one of their better sets in recent years.

Thanks for the tip.

I'll try to educate the kid before she repeats it in school a few years from now.

Nike keeps the schwag at the Eugene store.

On a serious note, the Eugene store is pretty cool. They have an awesome display that gives a good rundown on the company history and UO track and cross country. Pre, yada yada. For all the crap I give UO and Nike, it is quite a remarkable success story. But, of course, Phil didn't build that.

Innovation is our identity. Fits the NW in general and we love it.

After 10 years of living out here, I <3 this.

But I don't ever want my alma mater to do this. I love LSU's unis just the way they are. But it's a different culture in the SEC and the South. Traditions matter a ton more. That's why Toonces makes us cringe.

But Portland and Seattle are way the hell out here relative to the rest of the country. It really is a totally different world. You see it in the local beer, wine, restaurants, lifestyles, etc. I'm more into the great outdoors, especially hitting the Cascades, but I appreciate all the variety of crap people are into here and that you can sample. It's never dull.

But I still miss the hell out of the familiar traditions of the South. About to chow down on some red beans and cornbread. Yeah, I know it's not Monday.

The best.

I've lived in a few states that are great producers of microbrews but Oregon tops them...it's also the largest producer of hops in the world outdistancing Germany.

If you love beer, Oregon is the place. The state is passionate about it.

Beer and coffee. Only way to keep your sanity in a place where it's overcast and drizzles 9 months of the year.

Summers are fantastic though. I hate being stuck in a cube farm right now. Mountains are taunting me.

Tempting. But I'm all about Hood To Coast this month. Running is a love/hate relationship for me.

Would love to do that. Hit me up on Facebook in Sept. Wife is practically begging me to get out of the house because she knows I go insane if I don't get my backpack on before the winter rains return.

Good luck P!

I'll hit you up. I've hit the ground running since getting back so I will be going.

I really can't stand coffee anywhere outside the NW. I go to see relatives in IDAHO every year and we still haven't found a good coffee spot. Even Starbucks is worse outside the NW.

Cool story for you...

10 years ago the moving truck pulls up to my house in Baton Rouge. I'm all packed to move to Oregon. The drivers of the moving van tell me they are from Port Angeles, WA. First question they ask me is "Where can we get a decent cup of coffee around here? Is there a Starbucks nearby?"

I think I sent them to CC's on Bluebonnet. I don't think we had Starbucks in Baton Rouge yet. CC's is Community Coffee (age old coffee company based in BR) but I could feel their disappointment.

Then I get up here and discover there's a mom and pop coffee stand in every strip mall and every parking lot. Like snowball stands in the South in the summer. Only year round.

But this place really need a daiquiri bar or twenty. Especially today when it's hotter than balls.

Get your coffee iced. Or get a seasonal ale at McMennamins .

That and snowball stands would be a huge hit here.
