They say it’s for player safety but half league still uses turf and they are trying to go to 18 games.

And explain how or WHY a 190 lb DB is going to tackle Derek Henry or Metcalf or Kelsey or Barkley. If you are in open field and giving up 50lbs what the hell do you do?

That last one can’t be illegal.

Apparently, the Mark Andrews play which initiated a lot of this is NOT illegal now. Florio discussed this a bunch today and was upset about that. He thinks refs aren't going to flag it much and the league will attempt to police it with fines.

A defender can’t go up top, now a defender can’t go to the waist, and just fall down to complete the tackle. Which would be natural for someone that’s chasing someone from behind, and that person wants the ball carrier to fall down. I guess the competition comity watched LoonyTunes and tying shoe laces is a common thing. I’ve said it many times and I’ll say it again, when legalized gambling became a thing for a lot of states, everything has gotten worse. Within in ten years the people that continue to pour money into these teams, will be paying for and betting on flag football. The pussification of the NFL is dangerously close, but a few years from now the people betting want care, because the same people are also bitch made.

Can't say it enough in this thread:

This is just another mechanism the NFL will use to rig games. Period. It will be selectively enforced to benefit the teams they want to win. There is nothing more to this.

Those same refs that are saying they won't call it are full of shite. They are paid to alter games at the demand of the league. They will call it.

The NRL banned the "hip-drop tackle" last year due to similar injury concerns in rugby. If rugby bans something then it is legitimately dangerous.
