Wow Karlsson to the Sharks.

Bruce Garrioch Verified account @SunGarrioch

Sources say the #Sens have dealt Erik Karlsson to the Sharks in exchange for Chris Tierney, Dylan DeMelo, Josh Norris, Rudolfs Balcers, 2020 1st, 2019 2nd and two conditional picks.

Seeing alot of jokes about Colorado locking up the #1 pick, but I wouldn’t be surprised if sans all the baggage Ottawa is middle of the pack. Didn’t they have a decent start last year before falling apart?

yea, they were decent until their trip to Sweden and 2 game set with Colorado

then they acquired Duchene and turned into complete dog shite.

So a bunch of spare parts. No guaranteed good players.

Not much leverage when hes on an expiring. They’re kind of stuck like Montreal was.

I'd give my life for Karlsson. Sens will be irrelevant for a minute.

True. Reminds me of when Atlanta traded Kovalchuk and got Oduya, Bergfors, Cormier, and a 1st who turned out to be Burmistrov.

A lot of pieces but still nothing overly impressive.

NHL 19 drops tomorrow

I wasn’t going to buy it but the new scouting system will lure me in.

The podcast I listened to said Canadians did well from Pacioretty (I’m sure I misspelt his name) deal.

I think they did well too, but in the context of Patches being a 1 year guy. He’s got 3 years, you probably get something along the line of Duchene’s return.

I’ll be getting NHL 19 as well. Sounds like the basically copied the scouting system from FIFA which is fine with me.

So the Sens take that from San Jose but wanted Heiskanen from Dallas?

He'll never read this, but just wanted to thank Steve Yzerman for what he's done for the Lightning, he's been a great GM!!! Surprised we kept him as long as we did, to tell ya the truth. Now, after this seasons Lightning advisor roll, he'll finally get some rest or go to Detroit/ Seattle. Had to be tough for Yzerman, with him being so far away from his family this long, and his sacrifices are very appreciated. No Lightning fan should be upset with Yzerman's choice here, he's been a team-player from the get go.

Yzerman has the Lightning set-up with at least a 3-year window to win "The Cup" (Maybe a 4-6 more years) before some very tough decisions will have to be made. Hopefully the new GM, Julien BriseBois, has learn all he can under Yzerman, and can make the changes when needed. Plus, the Lightning's great scout-system needs to keep rocking out gems because the Lightning's scouting system has been an important piece for recent successes. I'd be cool if the Lightning could get it done this year, because Yzerman deserves to be around if this group of Lightning players ever win "The Cup", He's earned that and then some for his excellent work...

Thanks Steve Yzerman

Oh yeah, nice pick-up for the Sharks with Karlsson. This could be the missing piece needed to get them over the hump, and I bet Sharks fans are very be excited at the possibilities.

Boy, Ottawa fans are in for some tough times ahead but we fans have to take the good with the bad. Still, that doesn't make the now stink big time. Regardless, their GM needs to be kicked to the curb!!! Even though Ottawa's leverage was terrible here, they should've gotten more from any Karlsson trade. Ottawa sure wanted to keep Karlsson out of the East, and made sure the Shark would have to give up a 1st, if they traded Karlsson to East this year. Without that, the Sharks could've flipped Karlsson for an awesome return at trade deadline. Which would've sent Ottawa fans over-the-cliff.

Karlsson free-agency should be crazy, especially if he kills it this season....
