It's kind of funny that Philadelphia is the only team in the East to have wrapped things up. The Pens and Caps both should be at home resting now, but I guess it evens out since they're both going to game 6. I figured Buffalo would bounce back tonight. That series has had 7 written all over it from the beginning. Boston needs to finish at home, but I'm hoping for a game 7 (both from a general fans' perspective and b/c it could help the Pens). It'll be interesting to see what happens with the two games tonight. You really have to like the chances of whoever wins these game 5's. I think Vancouver will win, but have no idea about Detroit/Phoenix.

Yeah that Buffalo series is going 7. And the Pens/Sens series is basically going 7 at least because of that 3OT. So let down by the Caps tonight. I just want a series that doesn't go 7 games.

That's essentially true re:Pens since they went in the 3rd OT. The one good thing they have in their favor is that they started their series earlier. So they have an extra day of rest (actually 2 days upon further inspection) on the Caps as long as they finish in 6. Of course, those two won't be playing each other in the next round, but the same applies to the Sabres/Bruins series. Since the Flyers have it wrapped up, the Caps' losing was probably more detrimental from a relative fatigue standpoint. But don't get me wrong, both the Pens and Caps hurt themselves by not finishing when they could. And I know I'm going to be pretty nervous about game 6 just b/c I know the agony that comes with a game 7.

And re: the late games, I expected Vancouver to win, but not like that. Luongo played well so that has to be encouraging for them. He's played significantly better in the 3 home games so I wouldn't be shocked to see him give up 3 or 4 in LA again. But they've found their stride offensively so LA could be staying home after game 6. Detroit pulled away late and will probably finish off the series in game 6. Phoenix has played well, but I don't think Detroit is going to let the chance to finish at home slip away. It'll be really interesting if that one makes it to a 7th.

Is Chicago just really fricking good at killing pps, or is Nashville really fricking bad at scoring on them?
Posted on 4/24/10 at 5:11 pm to Meursault
who cares? Chicago! Wins! TooToo Bad! Wooooo

Posted on 4/24/10 at 5:11 pm to Meursault
They're just very very bad at scoring them.

Hossa should've been knocked out of the game for that hit if Ovechkin was. The NHL never knows what the frick they're doing when it comes to justice.

What an ending. Hossa gets a 5 min major with 2 mins left, Preds are holding the zone until they throw a blind pass to center, Chicago gains the zone, gets the extra attacker to even it up, and scores!
Then Hossa get the gamewinner in OT!
Preds totally blew it. Might not recover.

This. Preds PP is 0-22 in the series, Including all 5 mins of the major, 3 of which carried into OT.
Pathetic.
