Yeah 3-1, right call disallowing that goal.

Like they'll need it. NHL should just fast-forward to Caps-Pens and let everyone else in the East go play in the World Championships.

Kings are eliminated. Luongo made one hell of a save in this one.

That save was incredible, he was committing larceny. I hope the 'Nucks get hammered though.

Wasn't he injured on his glove hand as well? That was one of the best saves I've seen in a very very long time...Chicago/Van-City next round...I think Hossa might be a 3 time jinx.....

SJ and Vancouver both finished strong after looking quite vulnerable early on. I can't wait for Detroit/Phoenix Game 7. That's going to be a hell of a game. Chicago should do everything they can to finish off the Preds tomorrow night. I don't think it'll be easy though and that one will probably go 7 as well. The Caps should take care of Montreal; if not, that's going to be an incredibly pressure filled game 7 for them. I've been saying Boston/Buffalo was headed for 7 so I'll stick with that. The best case (as Pens fan) would be for Boston to win in 7. It's going to be a very interesting couple of days. The top teams in the East certainly haven't had as much luck as the ones in the West.

A few more thoughts on what's transpired and where things are heading... Buffalo and Nashville still have yet to score on the PP. It's amazing that they're still alive considering how neither has a powerful offense. The Caps PP has been woefully inadequate (1 for 24). That's certainly a big reason why they've been in two OT's and are having to play a game 6. Their power play was outstanding all year so it's going to be interesting to see what happens there.
Luongo and Fleury both finished under .900% for their respective series, but both came up with some big saves. Rask and Niemmi have really delivered in their first career playoff series. Nabokov has been playing really well. That's a huge deal for the Sharks. He had really sucked it up the last few playoff series and he kept them in this series when the offense was struggling. I'm very interested to see how SJ comes out in the second round. Are they going to be proud of themselves for simply winning a series or are they going to show that hunger/desperation that ultimately won them this one?

I missed the last Nashville game (I'm taking part in our Cup finals for my ice hockey league, and they scheduled first game of cup finals during the last preds game
) after seeing the highlights, damn...Preds really gave that one away..
Preds need to really pull it together..with that, Go Preds, and go Nashville South Stars for our league finals, going into final game, series tied!

quote:I have never seen a Red Wings team as tired or dismotivated at home...my guess Phoenix picks up the series at home...pitty too as Detroit looked so good game 4-5..I don't think Chicago will make the same mistake with Nashville but time will tell, if the Caps don't win tommorow and Semin continues to struggle Montreal will win this series..of course the good people of Montreal believe they should win the Stanley Cup every year but there is a percentage of their fan base that arent completely nuts who know taking the Caps to 6 or 7 is an accomplishment...Buffalo I think will win this series at the end of the day however this crap with Chara being suspended then having it reversed makes the NHL look like a bunch of assclowns...why bother having rules if you dont enforce them?

Can't believe the Wings - Preds Game 7 will be on TSN. Looks like I'll only be catching it online and that is as predictable as the Georgia weather.

time for the caps to wrap this up tonight

yes please, then knock Philly out 4 straight...

This game basically determines if the Caps have enough to make it to the SCF. They need to stop fricking around and put this team away. If this series goes 7 I just don't see them making the SCF. It'll show that they haven't learned anything from the past 2 years. Just win damnit.
