The Lambs can move out of town, and they can bring Whitey Herzog back but it is not going to change the economics of the situation. The Cubs can outspend St. Louis and Houston combined.

They sure can..and thats what makes it all the sadder that in the past 100 years, St. Louis - 10, ChiCubs - 0.

Seriously, you think 90K would still be in Tiger Stadium if LSU was losing 35-7 with 5 minutes to go in a college football playoff game, if such a thing existed??

your problem is that you think your silly comparison merits discussion.

Astros could easily support a payroll over $110 million. Only reason that haven't is the owner won't.

It's not dead, it's just trapped inside of that giant toy baseball thing

There's a difference between can and will. For years, the Cubs didn't spend, when they could have. Since the strike in 1994, they have spent; and they have 4 playoff appearances in those 13 years versus 2 between 1945 and 1989.

So what's your point?? He won't spend the money and the Cubs will. You guys got swept by the Sox...that's pretty sad. Astros=No World Series. At least the Cubs have a couple of World Championships.

anyone wanna delve into the amount (or lack thereof) of money the fish spend on payroll? don't they have two rings in the last 11 years?

Dude, it was just an observation I made that interested me. What's sillier, making the observation or responding to it numerous times?

The Corner in the baseball thing is like vacuum packed Bourgeois jerky. Just keeping it fresh.
