He really wasn’t though, on replay without the 2nd defender making the tackle I’d say the receiver escapes that first tackle 90% of the time. The first defender was barely pulling on him.

I have 0 sympathy as defenders are well versed on this on what not to do, but at the same time I don’t know a realistic option to do there either.

That was textbook targeting. Forcible contact to the head and neck of a defenseless player

Except, he wasn’t “defenseless”. He made a football move, and was moving upfield
