I haven't read this whole thread, but I'm sure a couple of retards have said "FOOTBALZ 'POSE TO PLAY N' SNOW." If football was still run oriented, and it was all about featured backs, then sure. There is nothing entertaining about waiting receivers slipping every time they try to make a cut.

You obviously aren't watching this Lions game, it is VERY entertaining!!!

I've played football in the snow before. It was fun, but I don't wanna watch NFL teams play in it. I just don't.

I'm watching it right now.

These are two high powered offenses, and in the 3rd quarter, neither team is over 200 yards.

They can't even ATTEMPT a PAT. No ones even tried. That's sad

Well, too bad, because NYC is covered in snow during the entire month of February every year, and it snows heavily every day. Read the thread. Gah.

Just so I'm clear, I really don't want the game to be played in 8 inches of snow, similar to what the Detroit/Philly game is right now, but I'm fine with a 20-30 degree game, and some flurries if it happens. Reminds me of watching playoff games when I was young.

Couldn't they at the quarter break and halftime, blow the snow off the playing field just so it's not inches deep?

Exactly. This game is fun to watch. How "fun" is it going to be when your team is in it and affected by it? You can say it's only "dome team and fair weather teams" fans complaining, but it won't be. It affects everyone. Look, Detroit (a dome team) and Miami (epitome of gorgeous weather) are leading Philly and Pitt. So you're arguments hold zero weight.

What a lot of you forgetting about is the surrounding area if the stadium as well. If a storm hits that area the same weekend, the entire area and it's public transportation could all be shut down. Fans/players could potentially not even be able to make it to the stadium to play the game itself.

let me lay out a shitstorm scenairo:

Friday before superbowl, a weather system that turns into a major northeaster winter storm hits the Washington-Boston corridor:

-amtrak northeast corridor shuts down for the storm, train service starts on a partial schedule Sunday afternoon...

-newark, laguardia, kennedy, philly, and bwi airports are closed down for the duration of the storm...ny metro area airports are closed until Sunday at noon

storm goes from late Friday until Sunday morning...dumping over 24 inches of snow over metro NY area...

Jersey Turnpike closed except for emergency vehicles....

only way you can move around NYC is on the subway...

NOW WHAT?

snow is good and fun when it's one week out of 16, it's meaningful when one of those teams wins home-field advantage in the playoffs, but not in the super bowl

So...Detroit just had to take a TO so their entire team could clear a spot for their kicker.

Oh and he still missed it

No idea. The worst thing about this is that your scenario happens at least twice a week. It's irresponsible for any business to be headquartered in the NYC area much less hold important events such as the Super Bowl there.

Thanks for sharing.
