If Sam Leavitt leaves after this season, LSU is bringing in another transfer portal QB, particularly a talented starter from another team. If Leavitt leaves after the '27 seaon, then LSU will still bring in another talented starter from the portal. Or maybe I should say they will target one and try to get him
That costs money. There’s something to be said for having your guy in the building learning your system

First, the "why don't these guys just put the bat on the ball!" crowd ignores this stuff.
They probably also ignore infield defense getting better and better… this is why they’re trying to lift the ball. Ground balls don’t win, if they ever did

Forbes in June 2025 listed the Padres at $1.95B.
Forbes is looking too much at numbers and undervaluing the scarcity built into every sale that drives bidding wars (not many franchises hit the open market)

Who's more valuable in the 2028/2029 season? A redshirt freshman/sophomore Peyton Houston who's been sitting the bench for two years or a Peyton Houston with one or two years of starting experience at WKU, Coastal Carolina, North Texas, etc..?
If you know how good a dude is you want everyone else seeing it on film?

I’m just saying. If you’re outside Orleans or Jefferson your local nonselect school is generally OK. I don’t think Hahnville or Destrehan or us or Belle Chasse or anyone in St. Tammany is struggling. There’s enough kids for everyone

Option 2 "Look you crybabies, I was going to honor the rangers with a statue in the building anyway, and it just so happens you guys had a perfectly good one removed during your meltdowns in 2020, so what, we should let that sit in storage and I get to commission a new one that does the same exact thing? Please, for everyone's sake, grow up"
I’m guessing that statue wasn’t owned by the city of Dallas? I don’t think Beauregard, Davis, Lee, and Liberty Place will ever see the light of day again anywhere, and it’s not because other groups don’t want them, it’s because it would be a political loss for the city of New Orleans and the DNC to let them do so no matter how much they contribute to the city’s coffers to sell them

That and the playoff series we won two years ago just seem like nothing because we went to North LA and got absolutely worked in round 2.

its the constant whining that gets on my nerves.
Would we rather not have these threads lol.
We pass a rule, I thought it was gonna take effect since it was in the handbook, it doesn’t, and lo and behold we miss playoffs by one spot in football, one spot in boys basketball, and two in baseball, with winning records in all three sports. Then we’re in a fine district, but we get moved to the Catholic League for what… particularly when other districts around the state have 9 teams. Sorry it’s been a rough year.
I go to everything and ever since Katrina we’ve had one chance to win state in something, the Mitchell Robinson year in 2017, and even as great as he’s been in the NBA, not even he could get it done for us

Parish migration - people that live in parishes with weak public schools and weaker facilities lie about where they live and go to school in neighboring parishes with better schools/facilities
I mean if you’re in Orleans, Chalmette would be a logical place for you to do this. It’s just that they aren’t usually baseball families. There’s a reason in the past few years MLK Charter, Livingston Collegiate (soon to become Sarah Reed), and Douglass have closed
With that being said, a couple years ago, half our lineup was black
777 is overselling us lol. We’re still one of the biggest schools in the state, but he’s overselling us by 200 or more kids

Riverdale isn't terribly talented but the coach has put together a decent program for what they are. They've passed up many of the surrounding public schools in baseball. They'll put some okay arms on the mound, but won't be terribly deep after the starters. They hit bad pitching but will struggle with anything above average.
They were SO happy we left that district… John Ehret beat us once for district, and before that, Grace King, and Higgins beat us once to share it, but Riverdale and EJ came close a few times but never did
