This line of thinking is how casinos make money. Yes LSU scored 37 on TCU. They were also trying to score the entire game. What happens when they're up 38-10 late and are just trying to run the clock out?
Or maybe I am overthinking it and should just take UAB + because I think they're good for 17-21 points in this game. But I don't trust their D at all.
UAB has a good offense that can run and pass. LSU is also ripe for a letdown in intensity. They have a lot of new players. LSU allowed 14 to Idaho and North Texas last year...this is a much better UAB offense than those two. If they have a big lead, even better, as the backup QB will throw it a little to get some work in, there will be plenty of defensive replacements in, etc.
I realize that Miles doesn't really like to get the score out of the 40s for LSU...he's not a rub-it-in coach. So my pick is dependent on at least 14 from UAB. And 5 dimes has team totals, so I'll check that out too. If UAB's total is under 14, I'll go with that instead.

Agreed, tough call on LSU for all the reasons already mentioned.
Eta: Then again, the 2011 LSU team came out the gates covering nearly everything for a crazy stretch. Maybe this team does the same with the improved O.

I like to bet a lot of games for entertainment purposes. Unlike some of the douches like Mr. Biggest sports book in the world guy, I'm not looking to make a living off of betting on sports. If I lose, I won't miss the money. I think LSU has a good shot to cover that number but that really pisses off this big time Vegas guru for whatever reason. I will also be at the game, so I like to lay something on it.
