And yet Kobe shoots 45% from the field and LeBron shoots 50%.

It just seems really dumb to prefer a guy with a better jump shot as opposed to a guy with a substantially higher FG%.

Lebron shoots layups dumbass. Kobe shoots jumpers mostly.

Who gives a frick how they do it if it counts as 2 points. Look at Carl's Shaq analogy.

I hope you understand I was being facetious when I said that.

If you want to say they are night and day players then, how can you ever truly compare LeBron and Kobe? You can't compare Shaq and Kobe, just like you can't really compare Kareem and MJ.

As far as LeBron's stats:

He should shoot a higher % because he is a forward.
He should get more boards because he is a forward.
He should get more assists because he plays as the major facilitator in the Cavs offense, whereas no one ever racks up a ton of assists in the Triangle.

You can't really compare guys of different positions to determine their greatness.

There's no such a thing as "offensive 1st team".

I think James WILL make the defensive 1st team in his future. he's developed into a pretty good defender and can only get better. How can he not be a good defender, he has all the physical tools in the world.

For some reason, I think I'd prefer Lebron in the first 47 minutes of a game and Kobe in the final minute of a game. I dunno why, just the vibe I got after seeing Lebron make plays in the final minute v the Hawks and Wizards (crab dribble) this year.

However, Lebron is pretty clutch. .. I'd just feel more comfortable with Kobe because of his jump shot (in teh final minute).

If Dirk doesn't get on there this year it's a sham.

All I can remember is Kobe's choke job in the finals last year. Before that time I would agree totally with calling Kobe more clutch. However, a great clutch player is not on the floor missing shots when his team is losing a 20 point lead. Saying that Kobe is a better player because he has a better jump shot is the same as saying Lebron is a better player cause he is better at driving into the lane. If you look at who would have a worse record if their team was without it's no question

Pau and Lamar, Kobe's two best supporting players in last year's Finals (Bynum and Ariza were out) were absolutely terrible. He had ZERO support in that series to the point that it resembled his 05 and 06 teams.

And that's not really a good argument, because LeBron's performance against the Spurs in the Finals the year before were one of the worsts series ever. In fact, he was terrible that entire post season minus two games against Detroit.

I wish I could delete all this Kobe love.

I say they're both great players, but give me a break on kobe be that much better. What's Kobe done without Shaq? nothing at all. Well, if scoring 80 something points and making the finals last year is gonna be mentioned, then at the end of the day what does he have to show for it?

I'm still dumfounded at how Shaq and Kobe both handeled the situation in LA. They could have accomplished so much more.

Lebron Dirk and Kobe all had very similar shooting statistics during their Finals losses in the past 3 years. Yet only one gets singled out as a "choker" :racist:.

Personally I don't think any of them are chokers, but if we call 1 a choker we'd have to call all 3 "chokers".

Plus, the 2006 Finals were rigged.

So making the NBA finals and winning two games, having a scoring title, an MVP, all-star game selections, 1st team ALL NBA/defensive all NBA, etc. are basically irrelevant?

Yeah, that argument sucks.

An NBA CHampionship is not the only possible NBA achievement.

And what did Garnett do w/o Pierce?
What has Timmy D done w/o the Admiral and Manu/Parker?

WHat what has Pierce done w/o KG?
What has Wade done without the refs?

Dumb argument, it's a team fricking sport.

And nothing against Kobe, but if I was starting a team from scratch and could pick anyone in the NBA, I'd def go Lebron over Kobe right now.

I agree!! The reason is that Lebron has done more with less!! Take Gasol away from the Lakers and they don't get to the Western conf finals.

I am SO tired of hearing this bullshite, GAZA STRIP, You must be stopped of this RIGGED crap. The only way Dallas made those finals were because of FLUKY shots by Dirk Chokinski!!!!

They were first in the West before Gasol got there last year. Gasol was also a defensive liability in the playoffs last year, so it's not like he was some magical spark for a Finals berth.
