I think SFP gets too enamored with the prospect on paper too much.

jenkins made his living dominating weak-armed QBs in the Big10 throwing to slow skill position players

he was lit up in big games like against LSU in 07 or USC last year

it's a fact that he lacks ideal speed. I mean the receivers he's going up against are in the 4.3 4.4 range. i don't think it's silly to want a corner who can run with them.

I look at Jenkins as a FS. I think he can play CB, though.

Didn't Chris Gamble run the same 40 time as Jenkins?

For some reason I doubt receivers are running 4.3 in pads with someone who bumps them at the line of scrimmage....

I guess this season I'd rather address OL than FS, then

Is he really that big of an upgrade from our current CBs?

Well, there's absolutely no way to know until he actually plays in an NFL game.

yes but he was (1) bigger and (2) did better in big games against non-big10 competition

he dominated in that title game against da U

jenkins has gotten abused, on the other hand

Has to do with alot, everyone keeps bringing up 40 times. But honestly when do NFL players get to run 40 yards untouched in shorts and t-shirts?
40 times are one of most overrated stats from the NFL combine. Jenkins has proved to be a versatile ballplayer.
He isn't going to start since Porter/Greer/Gay have that position and will provide depth at CB position and safety position.

The Saints probably didn't even consider Oher, since they resigned Stinch this off season.
