Lol @ the Maple Leafs.

The AHL Penguins just beat Toronto.

(Pens had 6 starters from the AHL called up, missing 5 regular starters on defense, one of the regular starters not missing is 19 years old, and Malkin and Neal were also out).

Also, Olli Maata is really fricking good at 19 years old. I did not expect him to be this good already, assumed after his 9 day stint at the beginning of the season he'd be sent back down, boy was I wrong. I mean, I knew he was talented and all hell and a top prospect, but I don't think many had him playing the entire season at 19 years old and starting every game, and playing damn good.

This is random but I wish Dallas would wear their away unis all the time...the white away unis look a lot better than the green home ones IMO

In other news, my Coyotes still haven't won in Montreal since 96. Mike Smith flopped tonight and it was glorious too.

Even hockey fans are tough...

LINK

quote:

EMS workers took Drummond down to a medical room in the arena, where her injury was examined. It was determined she needed stitches.
Then she heard Alex Ovechkin tie the game in the final minute of the third period to complete a three-goal rally against the Flyers.

“I’ll get stitches later,” she said.

So Drummond returned to her seat near the glass and the Flyers’ bench, wearing a blood-stained Ovechkin sweater and with gauze pressed tightly on her gaping wound. From there she watched Washington win in a (thankfully short) shootout, 5-4.

Yeah but those same FLYERS beat the Caps-arse last night. No crazy comeback for them again!

Anybody actually routing for the Great 8 to score 50 goals in 50 games this year?

Yeah, the Flyers scored two goals on that (deserved) five-minute major on Wilson. That pretty much put the game away early.

Ovie is at 399 goals for his career. Who gives up 400?

Not sure, but if he does it in his next game he'll beat Pavel Bure in terms of games played to get to 400. If he does it in 2 games, he'll tie.

When you think of how awesome Pavel Bure is, it's pretty amazing Ovechkin is in the same company or even above him.

Also, think of this. Pavel Bure played in era when games average a full goal/game more. Bure played in an era geared towards offense, and Ovechkin is doing this in the Dead Puck Era. Adjusted for context, Ovie's goal scoring is even more impressive.

And Bure is one of the single most explosive goal scorers I have ever seen. He was an absolute bad arse.

Pens up 4-2 over Wild in 3rd. They just killed a 2+ minute 5 on 3 and came back and scored ! Now 5-2.

I just ordered my road white authentic Olli Maatta Jersey yesterday.

Goal and assist tonight and huge block.

Go ahead and give him the Calder.
