with Downs and his recently revealed injury concern.
It’s coming out now that this was most likely bullshite by some teams in an attempt to have him fall
McAfee was on his show and said that multiple league sources told him they have zero concerns with Downs medically.
For now, my pick is Downs or Tate until there’s more info about Downs. I’m going to act like it was a BS report. If he actually does have degenerative knee issues, that will become more and more reported as we get closer to draft time. And I doubt the team would select him at 8 if that were the case. That would come up during the extensive physicals they have to do

Love Bernard in the 2nd. Been on him a while. I like Omar Cooper there as well.
Pat McAfee on his show just now that they talked to multiple league scouts that shot down the Caleb Downs knee issues. Don’t know how true that is tbh. But I’d run to the podium for Downs if the knee issues are a nothing burger

Styles worries me that high. He was a borderline bottom of the first pick before he blew up the numbers at the combine.
Before the combine I hardly ever saw him mocked lower than 15 to the Bucs and leading up to the combine it was more like 10-12ish with the Cowboys being the most popular.
He’s always been a really really good player but was overshadowed by Downs and Reese and he plays off ball.

The early reports BEFORE the combine seemed to suggest the Saints wanted to go defense at 8 but I’m not so sure now.
I fully believe that Reese, Bain and Bailey will be gone. I also think the Browns go Tackle at 6. But I think the Giants take Styles at 5 and the Commanders take Love at 7. I could even see the Titans taking Love at 4. And if that happens maybe Bain falls but I’m still just eh about him cuz of the length.
I think we end up with Carnell Tate. I’d rather wait on WR because there’s good depth there but there’s actually good depth at a number of positions. Safety, LB, EDGE all seem to have guys that can be impact players in Rounds 2-3. And I’m sure that’s the case for WR as well but Tate would still be the best player on the board if the draft shakes up like this:
1. Mendoza
2. Reese
3. Bailey
4. Bain
5. Styles
6. Fano/Freeling
7. Love
Normally I’d say take Downs but not testing at the combine, not great measurables and now reports about possibly degenerative knee issues…maybe it’s just his team trying to get him to go lower to a team he actually wants but those are a lot of red flags for me. And I’m not so sure a guy like Dillon Thieneman in the 2nd wouldn’t end up being better.

It’s all of those things and more. I’m just really impressed. I liked Village and Biohazard but I’m def more of a RE2 and RE4 kind of guy. I just prefer third person more overall as a gamer. And they’ve somehow managed to have a game that’s the best of both worlds and I don’t just mean with the third and first person style. They really nailed getting you scared and having a true survival horror with Grace while also giving you these badass, action horror sections with Leon. Just awesome.
I was worried the Grace sections would be underwhelming compared to Leon but not only is she a great character but they found great ways to make her fun to play in different ways than Leon. Excited for you to try it Carson.

fricking incredible game. Gameplay is super interesting and terrifying as Grace and then just stupid amounts of fun with Leon. Both actors are killing it.
Graphics are amazing. Story is solid. 9/10 from me so far but I think I’m only halfway so it could get better or worse but goddamn they nailed this one, at least to me.

I think unless Tate has an impressive showing at the combine, he could be back in play at 8. Underhill said that the Saints might be shying away from that and look toward defense but that was before the workouts. Looks like they expected some guys to rise
I wonder if this makes them pivot to Tate or if they been locked into Delane or Downs for a while. Just no way Bain (whom I don’t really want), Styles, Reese or Bailey fall. And I don’t see another defensive pick worth it at 8 if it’s not Delane or Downs.

I think Styles, Downs, Love are the top 3

Me and Chad been on Styles for a while. Big, fast, instincts are there. Legendary RAS score. Possible hole to fill with Demario threatening to go.
I’m so sick of the “positional value” shite. If Styles turns into the next Fred Warner/Demario Davis take that guy at 8 no question. Hell, his ceiling is even better than those guys.

I mean, buzz is that teams are leaning toward not caring about Bain’s arm length. I think him and Bailey are gone by 8.
I think one of Downs or Delane will be there. I want a true difference maker and idk if the guys you mentioned will be that. Way more questions surrounding those guys.

Underhill recently said he feels like the Saints are drifting away from offense at 8. Says he feels less sure of it.
Makes me think they’re not as in love with Lemon as what some of the national guys are saying AND that Love probably won’t be there at 8.
I think Delane, Downs or maybe even Sonny Styles might be the guys at 8.

After hearing reports around the combine, I don’t think Love makes it to 8 either

How did Mahomes not get mentioned?
At the time, in the in-game draft thread, people were on their knees thanking the football gods we took Lattimore over Mahomes.
People would have absolutely MELTED if the Saints had taken Mahomes over Lattimore considering the state of the roster at that point and the fact Lattimore was considered a top 5 prospect that fell really far AND we hadn’t had an elite CB in a long time

It’s a tired talking point to people who can’t comprehend that a running back has a very short life span in the nfl. They aren’t worth much. It’s why they aren’t drafted high on a consistent basis. This isn’t an opinion. It’s a fact. And you’re talking to someone who thinks Love is an incredible back. You literally can’t name a single running back who changes how a defense operates.
Maybe this post was relevant 10 years ago. The game is constantly evolving. RBs used to be incredibly valuable then they weren’t. But I’d argue they’re starting to become valuable once again.
Make no mistake, QBs, LTs and pass rushers will still reign supreme but an elite RB won a SB just last year with our HC as the OC. The league is changing. Give our young QB an elite offensive playmaker so he doesn’t have to do everything himself for once

Great finale.
Hope the tone continues in following seasons. I am worried after the next 2-3 seasons since GRRM doesn’t have anything written and only loosely has outlines for the two after that. But as long as he stays as involved as he was this past season they’ll be ok

Not in the slightest. It needs work. I just hate that our fans think the only way we can address it is 1 FA Guard and a Tackle at 8.
Plenty of good linemen have been found in the 3-7 rounds.
