They also forget the fumble that wasn't called that SC would have had or VY's pitch with his knee on the ground. Also Bush's "lateral" was forward

would that have changed possession?

it's not like USC was stopping vince much that game

look. if USC had a defense in 2005, i'd give them respect. they didn't really play anybody, they had a shaky D, and they almost lost to a non-BCS team who didn't sniff their conference title. you can't discount those flaws

OSU ran the spread option. OSU had really, really fast WRS. OSU had a better D than UT. they'd be matchup nightmare for USC

Different play. This was in the third quarter I believe, where a guy caught it, had possesion and fumbled, but it was ruled an incompletion even though he clearly caught it.

Obviously didn't change possesion, but if SC holds for a field goal there, the game is very different

and after the fact, Dave Perry, who was the supervisor of officials, said when the reviewed the game, that the Bush lateral was forward.

I still think that OSU would have had issues against SC....not that it really matters now

What?

2008 PSU > 2005 PSU as of right now.

2005 PSU beat 2005 OSU 17-10. I know...I was there.

2005 OSU not even close to 2008 PSU. Maybe that's what you meant.

FWIW...that 2005 game vs OSU at Beaver and the 2008 game at the shoe...very, very similar. In fact I heard again from the media how our defense in both years was very "SEC-like." I assume to take that as a compliment.

No, and he was right, 2005 OSU had more talent than 2008 PSU does, sorry.

If you believe 2005 OSU > 2008 PSU then you must believe 2005 PSU >>>> 2008 PSU.

I just can't say 2005 PSU was that much better than 2008 PSU just based on 2008 PSU defense v 2005 PSU defense. I think people get way too caught up in offenses and forget that some of these teams play offense AND defense.

FWIW I also think the production of the 2005 PSU offense v 2008 PSU offense is in favor of 2008 PSU offense...and I loved the PSU 2005 team. They just weren't as explosive on offense as the 2008 team is.

I thought we got screwed in 2005 at UM as well. The magic 2 extra seconds...anyone else watch that game?

No I don't.

Do you believe that 2007 Kentucky > than 2007 LSU? Was 2007 Stanford > than 2007 USC. Was 1982 Alabama > 1982 PSU?

Not always the case...but I was at the 2005 game and OSU gave it everything they had that night. It wasn't like a better team took the night off against a much lesser team (PSU one play from the national championship in 05 vs 07 Stanford, 07 KY, 82 Bama not so much.)

OSU was a better team in 2005 once they dumped the two quarterback system, a much better team. PSU was a very solid team that year though, no doubt.

yeah, and OSU in 2005 had some sick arse talent on D. hawk. carpenter. schlegel. whitner. yobouty. etc

PSU also had great talent with poz and conner at LB, justin king at CB, etc

Agreed...we haven't had much success period against the Bucks but in 05 I thought we were the better team (and got to prove it in a classic battle.) If not for that last play at Ann Arbor....but I digress.

Then we'd have Tulane fans coming on here going 82 Tulane > 82 PSU since they beat LSU that year.

I was at that LSU-Tulane game, last time Tulane beat LSU. That settles it though, Tulane 1982 National Champs!

I actually think 05 and 06 OSU were better than 08 PSU (not 07 OSU, though), but I'm a Buckeye fan, so...
