Not a professional athlete but i met mark Cuban at the Dallas turkey trot on thanksgiving day 10 years ago. I was in HS and had just finished the race with a buddy of mine and Cuban was walking our way. He had just finished the 5k and stopped to talk to us Bc we were sporting lots of lsu gear. Talked for about 5 minutes. Super cool guy.

I once met Shaq at Raising Cane's in Sugar Land, TX. He has a daughter and baby momma there. He eats at Cane's every time he is in town. My friend texted me that he was there (I worked there, but I wasn't working at the time). I said screw it, and grabbed my dad's Shaq action figure to get signed. It was days before father's day. He was seriously the nicest guy you can imagine. When I walked up to him, he acted scared. When I asked him if he would sign the figure (which I had left in the car), he agreed. When I brought it to him, he was pumped. He said he hadn't seen one like it in more than ten years. It is him dunking in his LSU jersey with a plastic copy of the newspaper clipping when he was taken #1. Since he wore #33 with LSU and #32 with the Magic, he asked me which number I wanted him to sign, which I thought was really thoughtful. I told him I didn't care, whatever he thought was best. He then signed it twice. Once on the court with the #33, and a second time on the newspaper clipping with the #32. Needless to say, my dad was absolutely thrilled.
I also met Ben Tate and Brian Cushing one time because Tate had a Twitter contest where he would buy dessert for the first person who got to the restaurant he was at. He took one picture of the place. My friends figured it out and hauled arse. It was days after Cushing was suspended for steroids, so that was a bit awkward. Tate was really quiet. His agent talked most of the time, and Cushing just talked shite about Notre Dame to my buddy who was a freshman there at the time.
Cushing asked us how we got there. I think he thought we were too young to drive (as college freshmen). Sorry we weren't on HGH.
Tate put a video of us up on his Facebook page, which was pretty cool.

Was at a Blazers Cavs game six years ago in Portland and this 11 year old kid yelled at LeBron as he came off the floor and said it was his birthday and asked if he could get his autograph. LeBron took off his jersey, signed it, and gave it to the kid.

Used to work for an online sports apparel company. We did shows where athletes do signings for the public.
Cool dudes:
-Ernie Banks
-Ryne Sandberg
-Michael Irvin
-Jim Thome
-Dick Butkus
-Deuce McAllister
-Kirk Hinrich (knew who Lester Earl was when he asked where I was from)
-Pete Rose
-Hung out with Dan Patrick at a Cubs game in the Suites when he threw out the first pitch a couple years ago. He was very nice
Not so cool dudes:
-Emmitt Smith (he was fine with me, but Tommie Harris asked him to sign a helmet, and Emmit signed it in the smallest handwriting I've ever seen. Tommie looked like he was let down by his biggest hero after that)
-Troy Aikman
Straight up weirdos:
-Marshawn Lynch
-Steve McMichael

Mariota's redshirt year was my senior year at Oregon. He used to play basketball at the rec a lot with these two other polynesian kids. Nobody really knew who he was. I did cause I had played dynasty mode with Oregon on ncaa football 2011 and he developed pretty well
One time, we were both on the same squad and we ran off about five or six games in a row on like a thursday evening. After that, the next couple times when I showed up and he was there, he'd always ask me to run with his crew. Great guy, freak athlete on the court. I shoulda made an effort to be homies with him.

I've got a few:
Met Johnny Manziel at the Masters last year, he was with his dad and some other guy. He was very friendly to the point that I was surprised how nice he was being. Said he was hoping to be drafted by the Texans. Have also hung out with John Daly a decent amount at the hooters in Augusta.
Shotgunned beers with Rashard Lewis on a stage at a band party, very random.
Friend of mine (girl) made out with Charles Barkley at a bar one night as a joke.
A lot of the Atlanta Braves would go to this one bar in atl on certain nights when they were off the next day. Freeman would always order flavored vodka drinks, Uggla was very bro in general. No real interesting stories just that I probably saw them at the bar 10 or so different times. They love to go out.

Lmao Chuck is married. I bet it's open tho. Chuck seems like he'd have an affinity for banging strippers.

It was fun for a long time. But it had it's shitty times as well. I began to hate the Superbowl, World Series, Christmas, etc. because that was our busy times and worked crazy hours. Got to see a shitload of behind the scenes stuff though, and everything we did was sports related, so overall a great experience

Ummmmm I met Robbie Gould once at Best Buy and my buddy was one of the better players in the MLS until he went to Portugal. Does that count?

met John Brady once at Voodoo BBQ in New Orleans. We were like the only dudes in the place. He was friendly, which surprised me a little because I had always heard he was a jerk. His voice was loud as hell too

Played golf with Russell Henley, Hudson swafford, Chris Kirk, Patrick reed, Brian harman, and a lot of those guys.
Was sitting at the table with Saban's daughter when my buddy called her a whore (we were probably 11 or 12). She ran over to the grown up table and told her dad- didn't care.
Played a lot of NCAA with Marquise Hill and Justin Vincent. Jamarcus "babysat" me a lot, he's a human garbage disposal.

Who are you related to? Has to be some higher up within LSU or a booster

caught 20 passes from Drew Brees on the Superdome field a month before the Super Bowl. And was paid handsomely for it. (commercial shoot)

In March 1989, Tommy Lasorda was at an LSU basketball game. I went up to him as he was leaving the stadium and asked him if he was here to check out Ben McDonald. He said "Who's Ben McDonald?"
