it was even in the local rules for the tourney...one note, I think they said his normal caddy was off this week after his wife had a baby (think it was them), the caddy should also take some of the blame for not keeping the player fully aware of the situation

That's what I was just thinking. But crap, this sucks. He did ground the club, but I can easily see why he didn't realize that itwasa bunker.

The fact that there's an inconsistency between players all week never having such a ruling reviewed and Dustin Johnson having his reviewed by officials only because he was leading on the final hole is completely bogus.
If golf's organizations want to go to television replays, they need to set up cameras on every single hole of every course and review every shot afterward. Of course that shouldn't happen, but why should one player be penalized only because of bad timing for his mistimed mishap.
Didnt know they've been doing this all week and his was the only one to get reviewed given the circumstances. WOW. This is crazy.

DJ hit into the crowd in what appeared to be just a worn down area
He grounded his club and took his shot

I think Bubba Watson's caddy was replaced for the weekend. I would be all over my caddy for not mentioning this was possibly a bunker.
