Ok I lied .. my last post on the topic

quote:

The first rule states:

Bunkers: All areas of the course that were designed and built as sand bunkers will be played as bunkers whether or not they have been raked. This will mean that many bunkers positioned outside of the ropes and some inside the ropes, close to the rope line, will likely include numerous footprints, have tire tracks during the play of the Championship. Such irregularities of surface are a part of the game.

Yea, the marshalls should have known that was a bunker, then cleared everyone out of it, so that there wasn't any confusion once the player got there.

I mean obviously it seems that the officials seemed to be more worried about getting the gallery out of the way than explaining to the player the situation.

If this is the case, then the marshals need to have the original Dye drawings with them. Because after 6 days of gallery trampling, who knows what will be a bunker or not.

The sad thing about all of this is that this exact thing happened in 2004, yet it wasn't as publicized because it didn't happen on the 72nd hole. Stuart Appleby got a 4 stroke penalty assessed for grounding his club and removing loose impediments out of one of those bunkers.

I unserstand this but I am just telling you that the USGA would have had the marshalls inform the player of the situation.

I've marshaled a senior tour event a couple of times and the tour official told us to stay away from the players, our responsibility was crowd control. Of course if you were near where a ball went OB or into a hazard you could be there to assist, but it was up to the player to ask, we were told not to interject ourselves into the situation without being asked.

Thats cool. Just telling you how the USGA handles it .. Especially on holes with "hidden" hazards.

STFU and GTFO. You don't like golf, we get it. You're too big of a man for the game, that's cool. Just quit fricking up our thread.

You talk big behind a keyboard. Why don't you go to a PGA Tour event and call him a fig to his face?

I'm pretty sure I saw him hug his wife or girlfriend or whatever. Talked normal considering he's German. Looked, Sounded, and acted fairly normal.

Has this not been resolved yet? Its simple: the rules sheet clearly explained that if you're in sand on the course you very likely may be in a bunker. If you don't know, you should ask.

It really, really sucks - but Dustin messed up. He showed lots of moxy by putting himself in this position again after the US Open, I think he deserves a lot of credit for that and hopefully will provide himself another chance.

I think I'm ready, but we shall see!

I saw somewhere you made 6 birdies in a round this weekend - you keep that shite up you're going to destroy me.

Word is Lakewood is maxing out the rough this weekend, so it likely will play a little differently....

In two rounds I made 12 birdies and an eagle and was only two under for the two rounds
