I know. I read this also. It is still a loophole that the PGA could have closed with the wording of the rule. They could have specifically included these clubs in the exclusion.

The PGA made the RULE. Phil is following the rule.
He is following the rule but not the spirit of the rule or the game at that level. He is following the rule to the letter in a way to get around it. Doesn't make him right. And other players have a right to call him out on it.

Finchem and David Fay need to negotiate with the Solheim family and resolve this ASAP. Even though Phil is legally within the rules playing the square groove wedge it's not within the "spirit" of the rules. It's a PR nightmare for the PGA Tour.
