I used to live close enough to pittsburgh that I got pittsburgh sports talk radio. I'm glad to see them doing well. I'll be rooting for them as well.

Im a Braves fan first, but Me and a buddy jumped on the Pirates at the beginning of this year because we wouldn't mind seeing a team like that make a little noise in the central. I liked McCutchen already so it wasn't hard to pull for them. I'll be pulling for them here on out as long as they dontnplay against the Braves.

I'm a Cubs fan and I don't like the Pirates. I don't have a horse in the race, so I'm just watching to see what happens.

I don't jump into MLB threads unless it says Pirates in the title, or if it's an Indians game thread and they lost.

I'm aboard.

But then, I've never really left. My Grandfather was from Pittsburgh and I was raised a Pirates fan. We went every summer to the Dome to see them play. I grew up idolizing Willie Stargell. I've suffered in silence for close to two decades now. This is really a joyful summer for me so far. It's rekindled my interest in the MLB game.

In 1976 my brother picked the Reds a one of those stores ta sold the plastic helmets.( anyone remember those). The only other ones they had were the Braves, Expos, and Pirates. I picked the Pirates. Been kinda tough nice 1979!!! I still want Sid Bream to break an ankle.

Bonds still wouldn't have thrown him out

I had those plastic helmets too. Pirates. Also had a wankees (can't remember why, wasn't a fan).

I also had a complete set of mini-helmets with the little cardboard standings board, and several of the mid-sized helmets that came with sundaes at Three Rivers.

BUMPIT

After a brief hiatus, The Buccos are once again in 1st place after handling the fading Reds last night. The Pirates now have 50 wins, which is quickly closing in on last years 57 total wins. On this day last year, they had 32 wins.
