5 of the first round picks in last year’s NBA draft were either from Nigeria, or a generation removed. NBA has emphasized its product globally for years, and its having a major impact in Africa now just as it did in Europe several years ago.
That’s no excuse for this US team to lose to them, though.
But it’s moronic to think that Nigeria doesn’t have talent.

So…who are your great coaches? Did you watch The Last Dance? I commend Phil for managing the egos of MJ, Pippen, etc. I commend Pop for winning titles in 3 decades and a similar core group of players, despite the game morphing from a defense-oriented style into offense.
I don’t think Kerr has done enough to get into a discussion with Phil or Pop.

The roster selection for this team was absolutely atrocious.
They still may end up winning gold, but bringing a guy like Jerami Grant over a true PG was a hilariously bad decision.
