It didn't work out for Penn State, but I still think James Franklin is a good coach and he's very likeable. Turning Vanderbilt from nothing from something is nothing to ignore. I think he will do well at Virginia Tech and I hope he does.

That was pretty cool. Franklin seems like a pretty genuine guy. He'll do well at VT. The ACC is very winnable.

Yeah Franklin is all talk. Talks a big game, says the right things, but is just a second tier coach at best.

Heard a really good story about Franklin the other day. When he was at Vandy, he was recruiting a kid from Atlanta. The player's sister and brother-in-law hosted the in-home visit. Most of the family were big Tennessee fans, and the sister had taught her 2 year old son Rocky Top.
At some point in the visit, Franklin was sitting on the floor rolling/tossing a ball with the 2 year old. The kid starts singing Rocky Top and doing the clapping thar goes with it, and Franklin is sitting there with him clapping along.
