All he does is hand the ball off and lets the defense win the games.

At Alabama, he plays within the system so I can't knock him for it. Not too many qbs have 2 guys like Ingram and Richardson playing behind them.
In high school, he passed for 4,000 yards and 50 tds with only 9 ints and he went undefeated there too.

I say Mallett, but I wonder how it would go with him without somebody like Petrino coaching him. His play designs and playcalling have a receiver open every play. Not knocking Mallett, but Petrino can elevate QB's like no other.

I think after this year, this will be a ruhtarded question.

Mallett easily.

Half the league's starting QBs could have probably led Bama to a title last year. McElroy will be no better than the 5th or 6th best QB in the SEC this year.

I will take mcelroy, and the people who say "all he did was hand the ball off" are ignorant as shite. Gmac's arm came through big time for us, numerous times last year. He's a player, plain and simple. Mallett is going to have to stop struggling against teams like East Carolina before he gets the nod from me.

I agree. I watched at least 7 Bama games last year and he always made all the throws you guys needed him to make.

I'M RIGHT HERE. Mallet's clearly a better QB although I do feel like he's a little overhyped at the moment. He still has a long way to go before he can convince that he can be a successful QB at the NFL level.
