seemed to wrongly assert he spent more time at jack state than LSU)
no I was merely saying that's where he got the majority of his playing time.
quote:
played impressively well wherever and whenever he got on the field... but couldn't stay out of trouble
I agree. I remember the story line.
quote:
he probably hadn't improved from when he was at LSU
I said this because not every qb, as you know, gets better as the year's go. (Take Snead for example) It really is all ??? when you think about how good he could have been. Heck, he may have never gotten better. That SEC championship game could have been the height of his career it's tough to say.

how about if RP is on the roster this fall, adam quits the board?

RP wasnt talented enough to get drafted is just stupid
not what I said. Are you talking about natural talent? (if you are talking about arm strength then yes he definitely has enough to make the nfl) As I said earlier does he have the work ethic, smarts, accuracy, and mechanics?

OK, so read the above... and then read:

WTF is your point supposed to be?

it's amazing how much LSU fans love RP.

his chances at LSU were limited. Who's to say if given a larger role he would have played just as well? If a player doesn't get better each year they fall behind.

I think most of us dislike RP but have an equal dislike for dumb posts

you said this on the last page, implying that he doesnt have talent:

Teams annually take risks on guys with questionable character if they have shown the talent.
you're too stupid for your own good

I don't think you have followed the story very closely at all from what you've written
if you knew that he played well in the SEC then you seemed to say the opposite. If you knew he had played well at Jack State you seemed to say the opposite. If you knew most think he's very talented you seem to say the opposite. If you knew he spent more time at LSU than Jack State you seemed to say the opposite.
Whatever

and I'm saying while he has more natural talent then many of this draft's qb's does he have the other things that some of them do? He was still signed as an UDFA so that proves he will at least get a chance. Like i've said he has NATURAL talent. But does he have the other things it takes to play qb? It depends what your definition of talent is. Talent to me is the whole package as their is a difference between talent and natural talent.

NO!!!

no I was aware he did. But again in limited chances.

He did but then you have to consider who it was against. I know some games they played some pretty good schools but were those the games he put the impressive stats up against?

I knew he spent most of his time at LSU. However, he put most of his stats up at JSU which is what's important.

Russell had fans pulling against him WHILE he was at LSU. The damndest thing I've ever seen... All it takes is a few minutes to look through the thread about him potentially being cut by the Raiders to see the glee some LSU fans have at his failure thus far.
Crazy as it sounds, some people have trouble pulling for someone who does everything half-assed and comes across as if he doesn't GAF that he is wasting talent most people only dream of.

Why would anyone argue that they think RP is NFL talent above just being basically asked to walk on because they need an arm while Brett is taking training camp off.
The NFL takes chances on ANYONE who has the talent and ususally take them too high (JR). He was put thru a battery of test and he got taken where they ALL agreed he was qualified...as a walk on!
His troubles were too far in his past to have a huge impact on their decision, but he is basically gonna struggle with the defenses and playbook reads. He will show the occassional flash of brilliance and talent that he physically has, but it would be YEARS, (3 or more) bef ore he could almost be ready to completely run a team.
