He is talking about the Spieth/Reed matchup which most pundits are giving to the Euros, whereas Vegas sees it as the closest matchup out of the 4.

Why does everyone think the Euros are so much better? I think the American team has a higher average OWGR and is loaded with consistent performers. (Exception is Fat Pat). The rest of the guys are in the mix all the time. I think we have more major winners as well. I think we win.

because they've beaten us in like 6 of the last 7 of these things.
They have the top players in the world right now. Martin Kaymer, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose. Our major winners are Bubba Watson, who hasn't been a factor anywhere other than Augusta, and Webb Simpson and Phil Mickelson who won 2 years ago, but have been pretty bad this season.
Our high ranking players are guys like Jim Furyk, who has one of the worst Ryder Cup records of all time. Meanwhile, the Euros low ranking players are guys like Ian Poulter who has the best Ryder Cup record of all time.

I'd much rather see Jordan or pat with Furyk/Watson than paired together. I mean I think they win huge but I also think Watson/Simpson will lose big.
