I'd be willing to bet that he has a worse case of sense of entitlement than Jimmy Clausen.

typical childish behavior. being a jerk. acting entitled and making sure everyone knows he is too good to be at blynn.
exactly what you would expect from a guy like that. certainly not the humble, remorseful, just-want-a-second-chance attitude you would like to see from someone kicked out of UF.

how much of a lesson are you supposed to learn if people don't tell you that you fricked up?
Does it seem like he ever took ownership of how he left Florida? Seemed more like it was no big deal at the Newton household and they went about seeing how much money he could get for the next landing spot
I mean, why is Cam supposed to think differently if the people around him are signing off on whatever he wants to do?

The NFL drafts bodies that they can mold into the players that they envision. You can coach limited offensive knowledge. That's why teams will draft big strong arm kids from Delaware, Miami of Ohio, and Kansas State before the high profile average sized/arm big school qb.
Average physical abilities + average decision making + good nfl offensive knowledge = future nfl coach or 3rd string qb.
Plus there's so many ways to approach the development of a qb.
YOu can sit on a qb for some grooming time (McNabb, McNair, Rivers, Aaron Rodgers), you can throw him out to the wolves early (Manning, Ryan) or you can hide him behind defense and run game (Sanchez, Flacco).
The panthers last year took the 'most nfl ready' qb. someone who played in the big lights and had a nfl style offense in college. He went on to have a Jamarcus Russell statistical type of year and offers you no projected upside in regards to playmaking ability.
As for Newton, it comes down to: two national championships in two years as a starting qb and being down 21-0 against Alabama and coming back for the win (no panic in his face and no hurried and worried look).

how does drafting a run first QB with less than 300 career passes and multiple maturity issues, with a rookie defensive minded head coach, a year after you picked a QB in the second round 1st overall sound like a good idea????!!! especially if you find out clausen really does suck, you'd have LUCK in your lap next year? unreal brothers and MARK THE DRIVEMANS WORDSm: canny cam will not be the opening day starter in 2016
quiet!
I like the prospects of being in a 3 team division the next 5 years

He's counting the junior college national championship Cam got before going to Auburn.

I don't know what the panthers are thinking but as a Saints fan, I approve of their decision to draft Cammy Cam (if they indeed do so).

still havent explained how Newtons passing numbers werent a product of Malzahns offense coupled with a ridiculous O-Line....
Chris Todd looked like Joe Montana compared to how awful he was the previous year.
The Panthers have issues EVERYWHERE on the field.

I can't believe they're bailing out on Clausen after one year. The kid hasn't had any time to develop and there's no way that they can label him as a bust after how atrocious that offensive line was in the last year. They don't have a second round pick, so it's a loooooong way to go after that first pick to start addressing team needs, and in my opinion QB is not a dire team need for them.
