The ONLY people who should be offended are the Red Wings/ Magic.
And of course the only people who will/can do anything about it, are the Red Wings and Magic.
There are 10 million things that happen or are said during a game that you have no idea about, so maybe they were both perfectly justified in their actions. Either way, you have no idea and neither does anyone in the media. But I'll be damned if they won't speculate until they're blue in the face.

It's merely a 80 year tradition. No big deal.
frick Crosby. frick him in his fricking hole. In hockey, this does matter. It matters a lot.

but ignorant people to hockey think it's just like basketball or some shite. It is a HUGE deal in hockey. they have had teams hate each other (think Avs vs Wings) and they still shook hands at the end.

I agree he did the wrong thing, However, what pisses me off is that the WINGS are complaining about it!! If they would have went out and not CHOKED, this would not be a story!!!

Just cause you lose a game 7 and you had a huge save by the goalie at the end that would've tied it doesn't mean you choked.
I hate the Wings but they didn't choke

I would hope that the world's biggest superstars would be good role models for the nation's youth. No big deal though right?

That may have mattered when we were kids. It doesn't in today's sports because of cheating, steroids, refs fixing games, PEDs, etc.

I just think that with all of these negative aspects in the forefront nowadays, that sportsmanship just doesn't matter anymore. Just win baby...and we don't care how it's done, is the new attitude.

This is hilarious.
The dude didn't shake hands...allegedly. Were we there to judge? No. Maybe he shook hands later. Maybe he went into the locker room after the game and talked to the Wings. Maybe he handed them all Benjamin's and sucked them off...
Big fricking deal. SPORTSMANSHIP isn't just a handshake. It's also playing fair. If he was cheapshotted, then he had every right to not shake their hand. It's bad SPORTSMANSHIP to take someone out deliberately...and I think that surpasses slighting someone on a handshake. Then again, that's just me.
The Wings lost, get over it. Also, when and if you (the original whiner of the thread) play a real sport that hits and takes a cheap shot. tell me how eager you are to shake the guy's hand.

Actually...I follow it pretty close. Judging by your statements though, you watched the Mighty Ducks a few times. Guess I gotta give credit where it's due..

I hate the Wings...so I could care less if they are bitching...BUT....you dont know alot about hockey if you don't know the post game hand shake is one of the greatest tradition in sports.
There have been many series w/ tons of cheap shots tons of fights and they still shake hands....tradition (esp. that one) is bigger than one person in hockey..I could give a frick if they shake in other sports..hockey it is a huge deal.
with that said I haven't seen if the Kid did or didn't...I'm just arguing if someone did skip out on the post game hand shake then they would be a dirt bag

My power was out last night due to a massive thunderstorm, but I've heard that he only refused to shake a couple of guys hands. I've got no problem with that if they know what they did.
Other guys have stated in the past that they didn't like shaking someone's hand after some cheap stuff in a game, and I agree with that.
Personally, I like to shake someone's hand after they do something dirty, because usually that means that I got in their head in some way during the match. So for me, it's "sportmanship motivated by spite."

Finally, a voice of reason on a hockey ignorant forum

Getting a lucky bounce from hiting the crossbar does not remotely equate to "huge save" - more like a lucky bounce.

Appeal to Tradition is not Reason.
Anyway, everyone is jumping on his back based on heresay from an unbiased source. How the heck is that reasonable?
