I'm sure the Astros would happily take him.

I'm going with stays.

1) The roseter was not nearly as talented this year.

2) Lost Nellie.

3) Still had 90 wins.

4) I don't want to change my avatar.

Pretty sure if he left, he could find a job at most MLB clubs.

Washington got his team to two World Series and didn't win them. I think that is his ceiling. Might as well try someone new.

Good thing the Atlanta Braves didn't use this line of thinking in the 90s after having lost the 91 & 92 series.

As a lifelong Rangers fan, I'll say this: I hope he stays. He wins. Players love him. He loves them. Even a "down" year they contended til the last day. Whoever thinks he should be fired doesn't really "get" baseball.

Agree with that. This season was also the one of the most highly competitive seasons that I can remember. I mean, frick, look how many teams were "right there" until the final week of the season. You could easily have had a great season this year and still had nothing to show for it.

90+ wins is a success, and that with not having Cruz most of the year. Bring in another arm and a bat and they could be right in the mix again.

Unless they fire the manager

I'm not a fan of the guy, but you can't fire him.

As good as he is behind the scenes motivating his guys and getting them to play hard for him, he lacks the ability to manage well in-game. His strategy is terrible.

I think he's certainly earned the right to finish out contract at the very least. If they dont make a run next year then he's probably gone. I love me some Wash! Got to meet him when I took a tour of the ballpark before a game last year. He always goes through his exercise routine before every game walking the field and as we were in the dugout he comes in and fires up a post-workout smoke

I'm inclined to think that next season is just as important for Daniels as it is for Washington.

I'm not sure that's true. Daniels basically won the power struggle with Nolan at the beginning of this year and has a ton of support from the ownership group. Just my two cents though.
