The Lightning are in a must win situation tonight, no doubt. Kudos to Columbus, they're executing their coaches plan and have frustrated the Lightning using the same kind of tactics the Caps used agaisnt them last season. How the Lightning coaches and experienced players aren't better prepared for this is beyond me, but it's tiresome watching Cooper getting schooled by experienced coaches in the playoffs. It's like watching someone using training wheels while riding the best bike one could possibility make. Suppose this young Lightning team and Copper are growing together.....lol Regardless, Cooper & company better figure out a way to beat this trapping style or they'll lose these type of match-ups every time. Cooper would be best served to watch Caps -vs- Penguins playoff match-ups, or the Pens series agaisnt Ottawa will do at this point. Cooper and company might actually learn something.
Kudos to Blue-Jackets, they've played well. I knew Columbus was a great team that was better than their 8th seed ranking. Plus, their peaking at the right time and their front office (Who was mocked) for going all in at the trade deadline isn't being mocked at anymore. The Lightning need things to go well early tonight or they're toast, simple as that really. The pressure for this Lightning team was huge before playoffs, but after the way they lost game 1 (Blowing a 3-0 lead), that pressure is off-the-charts now. The Lightning are playing tight Hockey and you can't execute good Hockey when tight like. Shoot, the Lightning might need to recruit the best Sport psychologists during off-season to get this mental monkey of their backs. Oh yeah, anger management would be good for Kucherov so he stops his hissy-fits when things aren't going well. That drive has helped Kucherov become what he's become but he needs to control his emotions better. We'll see if the Lightning can turns things around tonight, gotta figured out how to combat trap and sink their scoring opportunities.
Besides Lightning melting, these playoffs are tight and great! Bishop almost stole a game last night and I'm pulling for Bishop/Dallas to make some noise in the West. So far, the Lightning and Pens being down 2-0 are the biggest surprises for me these playoffs. Figured both of those series woudl be 1-1 after 2 games.
Go Lightning !!!!!

I love Pittsburgh losing like this. Man if Pitt, Toronto, and TB are all eliminated in the first round, I LOVE the Caps chances to go back to the SCF.

Caps win was just so professional and clinical. Pretty much a repeat of Game 1: get out to a big lead by playing hard for 10 minutes, then sit back and skate out the clock for the rest of the game. Canes forced OT, but the Caps again turned on the jets and crushed the OT before it got started.
This is exactly what you want as a high seed in the first round: boring games in which your team exerts a minimum amount of energy. Canes were upset about the major but honestly, they were lucky it wasn't two separate minors for a 2 minute 5-on-3. Dowd was leaning over because he got high sticked in the face, which the refs decided not to call (which I'm okay with if they are handing out a major).

The Colorado Avalanche are hoping defenseman Cale Makar can do for them what he did for UMass this season.
The Avs signed the reigning Hobey Baker Award winner Sunday, and he will join the team immediately for its series against the Calgary Flames.

Yeah it’s sort of like a big brother pushing the head of the younger brother away while he swings widlly in the air and keeps missing.
The Canes will be dangerous in the very near future though. They’ve built a good team down there.
Also, I’ve said it before, but the Pens arena dj is the best in the business.

Cale Makar will be burning a contract year for a worst case scenario three games. That's brutal. That said, damn he's good and makes that blue line so much more skilled.

Yes sir. It’s a great thing to watch.

Yup. I mean they did get two-straight titles out of it, but it's become apparent if you hold Crosby in check, they are an average team outside of him
