why are you acting like 50 tackles per year, including assists, is such a big deal?

he played 109 games and had 397 total tackles for his career. thats not even 4 tackles a game. and you consider that above average?

Thank you.

Ed Reed's played in 104 games and has 404 tackles.

Jones played in 109 and had 424 tackles.

According to that logic, Ed Reed is around average I guess.

Maybe a bit below average, but it is not like he is JaMarcus Russell type of bust.

Ed Reed has just as many INTs in 1 season that Jones has had in 8 years

Tebucky Jones is a good comparison. Both have incredible athleticism, but absolutely no ball or coverage skills. Mays should be a LB in the NFL, but I'm not sure how good of a tackler he is.

So, all average NFL safeties play eight years?

The average NFL career is 3 years, but the average NFL Safety career is at least 8 years.

Actually Ed Reed has had more INT's twice in 2 different seasons than Jones has had in his career.

Josh Bullocks is on pace to have well over 400 tackles in 8 seasons and he is quite possibly the worst safety I've ever seen.

1. ed reed is still playing. tebucky jones' career is finished.

2. my numbers say reed has 407 tackles and jones has 397.

3. ed reed has 338 solo tackles. jones has 297.

3. ed reed has 39 interceptions compared to jones' 6.

4. reed has 87 passes defended to jones' 14.

5. reed has 6 career forced fumbles and 6 recoveries. jones had 5 and 4.

6. you just said ed reed is average. youre a fricking moron.

Dude I just said Ed Reed is a HOF'er you idiot.

Jones is an above average FS. Not spectacular, but not average either.

This is the big difference. Jones had ZERO ball/coverage skills, same as Mays.

who gives a shite? that doesnt mean he is good.

rank the safeties in the NFL for me then.

Pretend Jones was still good enough to play and rank him accordingly.

there was nothing above average about him. less than 4 tackles a game is not above average. you trying to compare him to ed reed in that regard is just stupid, because ed reed is known for his abilities as a pass defender, not a run stopper.

stop talking.

The Saints last line of defense is making way too many plays. The Pats D was a bit better in the front, well, 11.

That remains to be seen.

I have not seen many people throw at Mays.

He will be tested in the NFL, so then that assessment can be made.
