I don't like Rice's playcalling these last couple plays, they get 2 first downs on 3 running plays then throw the ball on 1st and second down?

Stupid in-game decisions bug the shite out of me.

Kicking a 48 yard FG right there is the WORST of three options.

1. Go for it
2. Fake going for it and have your QB pooch punt it / or / standard punt
3. 48 yard FG attempt.

unless you have a ton of confidence in your kicker, I agree

I probably would have gone for it

Yeah I didn't agree with the call but it's what the coach gets paid to do.

I'm impressed with Rice so far. I like this no huddle offense and the intensity on defense. Based on what I have seen they may make some noise in Conference USA. However they wont beat UT.

Gilbert's throwing motion is WAY too long...he'll roll up big numbers against crap teams but against a defense that can pressure him, he's gonna struggle big time.

Like Tebow? His motion isn't that great but this is college...I think he will be fine. Maybe not this year but his Jr. and Sr. year he will REALLY good.

Texas is dropping back now so it's not like Tebow. Tebow had all day to throw, tons of checkdown options and was extremely mobile.

Gilbert is just dropping back into the pocket so his release could become a problem against a team that's able to get pressure.
