Well, despite the meltdown in game 1, we're in, and that's great.

Unbelievable that Sale sits around for two weeks, and suddenly has back spasms when we need him the most. Absolutely incredible.

Got him in a trade from Giants on 9/9, called him up on 9/11 when Merrifield was hurt, sent him down on 9/20 when Ozzie came back.

Too much White Sox in him.

Almost everyone goes with 12 pitchers for this round

Well he doesn't lose very often, so I'm not sure that's it. But the biggest concern when we got him was whether or not he could make it through a season. He was almost there, and now he's out at the worst possible time. I know the guy isn't doing it on purpose (who would?), but it doesn't make it any less frustrating.

I just read a few pages of the thread, since I wasn't in here during the games, and saw the board implode. Everyone was ready to quit the season, and now they're mad at me for being frustrated that Sale is unavailable.

You guys must be a pleasure to be around.

Get off your high horse, you coward. We post in the moment. Sometimes we’re right. Most times we’re wrong. It’s weak and petty to show up afterwards and act like you’re above it all.

You have to try to be that bad, it doesn't just happen.

The entire The Athletic baseball staff picked San Diego to win, including DOB

If my reputation was at stake, I’d have to do the same.

Yeah, given Sale's injury, I don't know that anyone in their right mind would pick the Braves.
Starting a guy that hasn't pitched in the MLB in 2 years.
Offense still sucks.
Had to fly across the country following a double header.

But the Braves still gonna win in 2.

I’m ready for tonight. I’ll be way too dramatic no matter what happens.

I'm ready in the sense, that I have zero expectations for this team.

I'll still live and die on every pitch like I do every postseason, but if we get swept over these next two days, the immediate aftermath of it won't sting like the last two postseasons did when we were the more talented team but played woefully below the sum of our parts.

The last time I felt like this was in 2021. I remember being in Truist after Will Smith struck out Yelich to win the NLDS and looking up and seeing "Braves Advance to NLCS" on the scoreboard and just enjoying that moment because I thought that team was dead in the water in July and now there we were as one of just four remaining teams. It felt awesome, as did the next three weeks after that.
