I'm not a Rajai fan. I'd prefer someone who got on base more, if they were to bat at the top of this lineup. Saying that, I'd be more than willing to trade for him after all other options are explored. As you said, his salary is cheap, he won't cost much at all in terms of prospects, and more importantly, he's an offensive upgrade at the position.

He has pretty good splits against lefties even this year. His OBP is over .340, which is a hell of a lot better than Schafer's. He isn't an everyday player, but we could definitely platoon him in center.

I'd love the Hardy deal, particularly to get Uehara. As you said, it wouldn't cost much since Hardy will be a 2nd half rental, and we would have Uehara for next year after his option vests.

I'd be thrilled with just Hardy if all we have to give up is AGon and a mid level prospect. A righty for the pen would be nice too, but I am hoping that Moylan will be able to shake off the rust quickly.

What if we get a fat daddy big bat in return?
Then we will be losing a fat daddy big arm.

I like the team the way it is. And if we can just get Prado healthy and Chippers old arse on the field, I like our chances.

If we get Hardy and have no intention to resign him, who's the 2012 opening day SS?

Who knows. We're either going to sign someone to a 1 or 2 year deal or give it to Pastornicky. I believe that we think our future at SS is somewhere in this organization so I don't see us giving a SS a long term deal, which is what Hardy will be looking for during his first time hitting free agency.

That's great and all, and as I said, he'd be an upgrade. But I want someone who can produce against both righties and lefties and will get on base at at least at least .340 while hitting leadoff and playing everyday.

No doubt, and I do too this year

I think we're a leadoff hitter away from the World Series, I honestly do.

But after this year, I don't see any reason not to trade JJ and get optimal value while letting Teheran take JJ's spot.

I know he's not at all a sexy option, but do you think Bourn is the missing link?

I want to believe he is.

Yeah we have been without a good leadoff hitter since Furcal, I think. And he wasnt even that special imo.

I think this is the most complete team the braves have had in a while and i would just hate to see the braves give away their ace midway through such a good season.

Although, I agree with trading JJ after the season for someone pretty good, considering how high his value will be if he finishes the season strong.

I think so, but I've also been the one saying this the longest

he's by far the best option and best fit for this team. The only downfall to him is him being a lefty, but so is Schafer and McLouth so who cares

I don't see anyway this happens

All the talk about trading JJ is about after the season. We won't be getting rid of him now.

Talking chop is posting their top 25 midseason prospects. Today they released 11-25.

Like most organizations, there isn't much to be blown away by for our 11-25 prospects

There's 1 or 2 high upside guys on there that could potentially start in the majors, but mostly bullpen arms and maybe a bench bat or two

Why is Hunter Pence rumored to the Phils? They were supposed to dominate the NL with their big 4, they need to spend MORE money/prospects? Why ever could that be?

I'll tell you why in 2 simple words:

ATLANTA BRAVES

Coming to frick shite up in the second half.

They miss having a right handed bat with some power in their lineup. Basically the same reason we went after Uggla this past offseason. Their lineup lefty dominated too.
