Bravofans, I know it's just Spring Training, but are any of you folks worried in the slightest about the Atl showings to date? Or that it appears for the first time in the last two seasons plus, that the NL East will have more than just the Phils, Braves, and three also-rans? Mets 89-73 in 2008 was the last time someone else had a strong NL East season.
I have a feeling Miami is gonna lead the division early(maybe at AS break?), followed by a close muddled field of Phi, Wash, Atl, and it being decided down the stretch.
I know it doesn't mean much, and I expect Atl to again have a strong staff, but Hudson just now getting cleared to toss extended bullpen work, and to date, the Braves' starters' ST ERAs..
Jurrjens: 9.72
Teheran: 9.00
Delgado: 6.92
Beachy: 6.00
Hanson: 6.00
Minor: 0.00..awesome spring to date(yet a career MLB ERA of 4.74)

Spring training stats mean less than nothing. Last spring training Arizona was 12-25, the Yanks were 13-15, the Red Sox were 14-19, while the Twins were 20-12, and the Royals were 20-10.
Our pitchers didn't forget how to pitch over the course of an offseason, that's the least of our worries. We won't be beating out the Phils for the division most likely, but we should have a good shot at one of the WC spots.

The Phils are fricking old.
The East should be a battle this year for that alone.
Then again, I just start thinking about their pitching staff and

It'll be a battle for the cellar between the Braves and Mets for sure

The Phils pitching will keep them in it this year. But the division is now up for grabs. Their offense will be average at best and borderline bad.

Hey, they are.
Two of their major offensive cogs are already on the shelf for a while, including their best run producer.
Rollins is still solid, but not the same as he was.
Victorino is still good. I do like Mayberry to be a breakout guy.
But after that they don't have a ton of great bats.
But they are still clearly the best team in the Division. It's just not by as wide of a margin as it had been the past 2-3 years.

Recovery from Tommy John is only a year. He will be ready for Opening Day next season. Look at Wainwright.

Been nothing but bad news this Spring, it seems.

O/U the number of hits we have in the first 5 innings of the game today. I will set the number at 0.
We are facing Verlander, btw.

I know, diminishing returns, and an aging bunch to boot. Hopefully Thome, Podsednik and Galvis good springs, spillover into the season.
Vanimal looks no rookie fluke, and Hamels in contract year form already.
