I agree with everything except the last part. Braves fans can be pretty bad

yea, cause everyone hits .480 with runners in scoring position with a 1.168 OPS

That is great and all, but he plays the least valuable position on the field, hasn't hit for power or drawn walks, and has been terrible on the bases. There have been at least three players on own his team that have clearly been more valuable. Very good player, but no MVP candidate.

toss up, but I agree on not wanting Yadi to win it. I guess if Terry Pendleton can win an MVP, so can Yadi.

That's great and all?? Lol

4 fricking 80

I'm not sure the MVP checklist includes: drawing walks, base running, or position premium.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

Wright has no shot, but he's currently the best all-around position player in the NL.

position premium.

I think this is a factor a lot of the time.

It's one of the reasons Yadi will be a front runner despite having meager HR and RBI counts.

I doubt most writers are gonna scroll through a players slugging percentage with RISP, as well.

Cardinals fans are annoying, I dislike how great they think they are (even after the Braves went in dry last weekend). But it's Molina by a good bit IMO. His defense is as good as ever, and with the way he is hitting, plus his team is leading the NL (for now).

8 of the last 10 NL MVP winners have been a LF (3) or 1B (5)

his batting average is .480, not his slugging. It has been talked about a lot on the airwaves, so it's not like its something they arent aware of.

and it directly correlates to his RBI total, which is 2nd in the NL i beilieve

I'm just saying these type of secondary numbers aren't going to get attention when he's hitting .244, generally, even by those who believe in them.

I think it's more luck than anything, personally.

Well yeah, when Albert Pujols is in his prime, he's gonna win the MVP a lot...

If you look at both leagues you have 5 1B/LF, 5 of everything else.

High on base at second base leading off for the best offense in the NL basically.

It's him or Goldy right now to me

Might be, I thought he was talking about Alvarez, so I may be confused.

His OBP isn't even top 5 in the NL, though.

And not having much pop will hurt too, considering he's no threat on the bases either.

He's having a good year, I just don't see MVP in his numbers.

Sorry, my confusion.

Craig is a good player having a good year. I don't see him as an MVP candidate since has a low HR total for a 1B and 1B/3B/LF are generally thought to be thumpers (not that that's altogether fair, but it'll be considered).
