Yeah, 2 years would be better. I don't really see the point of 3 years like in the NFL, but it would improve the college game. They should either stretch it to 2 years, or go to the MLB model and be straight from HS or 3 years
It should be out of HS or after 4 years/graduation. That should be the rule across the board NBA MLB and NFL

No it's not. It is a horrible model for a league that often has guys under 21 performing at a very high level.

i'm shocked kids haven't gone the Harper route, quitting HS, get GED, and go to Community College for a year.

So they're punishing teams with better scouting histories.

If that's what the majority of owners want then that's what the rule should be. It's their league.

Dont really see the benefit of staying in HS another year instead of going to college for a year.

In fact it seems more kids try to graduate early, reclassify, go to college and get in the NBA earlier

plus one guy went to Europe and made some money, worked on his game.
He is still in the association. I think that is a good option that most guys who play well should take into account, instead of only college.
They could work on their Spanish or German or French in high school and be more comfortable going to Europe for a year or two or three.

He posted a 32 inch standing vertical that's the highest ever for a big man (6'11 wo shoes)

Yeah he's going in the lotto. His floor is just too high

I wouldn't touch the dude w/ a 10 ft. pole.

Drama and shadiness has followed him ever since he was spotted and regarded as having NBA potential.

no I meant exactly what I said

A 7'1 kid who moves like that and has a 32 inch standing vertical if he plays nba 2k for the next 10 years and doesn't improve he's at worst an elite rim protector. That's the absolute worst he's gonna be. Someone that can come off the bench and guard the rim at an elite level.

His floor is a D-leaguer. Just being tall and athletic doesn't mean you're going to be 'an elite rim protector'.

You know what's even better? Let adults do whatever they want. If an 18 year old man wants to go pro then he should be allowed to.

Requiring kids to wait is a convenient money-making arrangement for the rich franchise owners and the NCAA.

Being tall athletic and able to jump 2 and a half feet off the ground are retry much all that's needed to be a rim protector.

Bismarck boyombo is in the nba and he's 70 years old and Not that tall.

He needs to out on weight this really it

Plus the celtics and nuggets have 13 picks between them they need players they can stash and send down to the d leagues they can't all make the roster. Thon has Value as a draft and d league stash guy

Bismack has one of the longest wingspans in the NBA and was on his way out of the NBA if he didn't put things together this year.

It works for MLB because those 3 years in college usually substitute for time in the minors.

It would be a shite show for the NBA because damn near every prospect with NBA potential would be declaring out of high school to avoid getting stuck in college for 3 years.

That's a good idea, but if they were that studious, they probably wouldn't mind a year of college.

Meh, I get the sentiment, but the same could be said for many professions that require a professional designation. You know what else is a convenient money-making arrangement? Not being able to sit for the CPA exam without 150 hours of coursework, but there doesn't seem to be much fuss about that.

This just isn't true. You also need to read when to help off of your man without giving up an easy assist, how to read approaches to the basket, and so much more. Physical ability is a start, but if they don't have the mental acuity to properly direct it it's useless.

Am I missing something? Seems you're insinuating that Biyombo is old. Isn't he 23?
