What I do love about Tiger's troubles is the fact that it puts in perspective how difficult what Tiger is trying to do is. People say he needs just 5 more to pass Jack. Well 5 more majors is Nick Faldo.!!! It is another hall of fame career on top of a Walter Hagen type career. this shite is not easy.
i felt when tiger got married he was going to have no chance to catch jack. i figured married life would change him. i never expected it to affect him like this though.

What's your beef with him...just curious.
He ruined 2 majors and I was pulling for Kenny Perry last year. Perry's choke job is not Cabreras fault. Just don't like his pudgy arse, long putter, unpretty swing. And yes I know Perry's swing is godawful.

That was Tigers problem. He tried to model his life after JAck's. Not taking into account the desires of his Lil' Tiger. Jack did not frick around from what I understand. But who knows. Different world then.
He ONLY got married because it was the next natural course for his life and looked good for sponsors. No accounting for really loving the girl.

oh no doubt...I think most people were.
incidentally, with all the talk about Woods, Cabrera has a fairly bad temper himself...seen him get pretty pissed, thrown clubs, etc.

since people are giving their "my connections in the golf business" crap. my old roommate worked at english turn for a number of years. the older guys there said that jack or arnie, i can't remember which at this moment, basically had a deal where he would have a couple girls waiting at his hotel every night just to come play the tournament.
that might be all bullshite. but its just as substantiated at these others in this thread.

i honestly have the same opinion of his marriage. its just a celebrity marriage to me.

Tiger just falls victim to the million cameras around him. He is a bit of a drama queen with throwing the club down on every bad shot. Looks like Barry Bonds throwing the bat down after a moonshot.

I think you hit it perfectly here. The cursing doesn't bother me because as you said, most of them do it and aren't mic'd. What does bother me is the whole entitled, spoiled brat, every shot i hit is supposed to be perfect mannerisms. Once in a while fine...he does it after every bad shot.

as much as i laugh at him when he does it i still don't really hold that against him. i do practically the same thing when i am playing. obviously not on the same level, but i still get pissy when i hit the green way right of where i was aiming and stuff. its just a reaction. nothing wrong with that.
i mean people are always going off on athletes that show no emotions. look at all the shite aaron brooks got when he threw an int. people wanted him to act like tiger.

oh don't get me wrong...i have my moments on the course as well...i have a broken pitching wedge to prove it. like i said, the anger is one thing...sometimes though, he's got that "this isn't supposed to happen to me" attitude.

i still miss my driver that i snapped in half. and the trunk of my car looks like a golf club burial ground. i have gotten better about that these days though.

he definitely has that. which is why i crack up laughing so much. everytime i miss a put i do the tiger hand motion like it broke the wrong way, it couldn't have possibly been my mistake.

Never met Tiger but I know from first hand experience left is the biggest a-hole I have ever met in terms of pro athleties. Its been a few years so maybe he has changed but I will never root for him.

His illegitimate half black son must have been so proud.

i don't give a shite that tiger cheated on his wife.
I don't either, however, what he has done to his kids makes him pretty much a low-life, selfish prick...I was pulling for Westwood and am not a big Phil fan at all, but I agree with the OP, karma won out yesterday.

You know, I've heard all this stuff about Phil so I asked a really good friend of mine who knows a PGA golfer who is barely clinging to a tour card (I know, its a friend of a friend thing, but I don't want to claim I know the golfer... I don't). I asked my buddy to ask about Phil next time he saw the golfer.
To report back, he knows the rumors of Phil and had heard all of the stuff about him being fake, but he personally never had a problem with Phil and his few encounters with him had all been uniformly positive. Take it for what its worth.

I asked my friend who used to be the club pro at Pelican Point and now is the club pro at one of the top courses in San Antonio. He said didn't know anything about Phil but said the Old Ball Coach is still shopping for property in Baton Rouge.

from the few "friend of a friend" things that I have...many (most even?) tour golfers are pricks. Nicklaus certainly wasn't a hit in the locker room and Sutton wasn't well-liked during his early years. Payne Stewart as well. I think that is why Euro golfers have so many fans, I'd certainly rather go have a pint with Westwood or Poulter over Mickelson or Woods.

That's why I laugh when people talk shite on Tiger for cheating. They have no idea what other athletes/golfers are doing off camara. Tiger just messed with the wrong kind of women. He messed with women that wants fame, money, etc.
Hell if Politicians and CEO's get caught up in affairs and messing with young sluts you can just imagine how many athletes are doing that shite and they have waaaaaay more money/fame so that means more money hungry ho's wanting a piece of them.

Dunno, we're all guessing from the outside obviously
But my guess is he really does love Eilen (sp?). It's just that he's had everything in the world given to him since he's been an adult... and of course he's going to be a narcissist incapable of equality based relationships now... everyone he ever meets tells him how unbelievable he is and rushes to serve him. So when you take that into account I think he's probably just lived in a world where there are no trade-offs for him... and he doesn't have to pass anything (pleasure or luxury) by in life that he doesn't choose to.
With how strange his adult life has been in that respect he's about what you would expect IMO... self centered because everyone else is Tiger centered. Doesn't mean he's any worse than most people would be under those circumstances
