It's easier to be the best when you are the only Daniel LaRusso in town.

how can anyone ever get too much of two guys beating the snot out of each other. what is wrong with you people. ufc is great. i wish it was on more. they need more fights. and they all always pretty good at showing pay per view fight a couple months afterward so you can watch for free. i order one every once in a while, but for the most part you have to agree what dana white has done with that organization is marketing genius. boxing has lost all credibility at this point. to put delahoya back in the ring again in a prime time fight was a joke. that's how desperate they are. delahoya has never won a big fight in his career. he always gets the beat down and it's boring. these mma fighters give it their all and it's very entertaining. i mean isn't that what it's about. how many times have you ordered a boxing event and been so pissed off because the main bout was a joke and the under card fights just plain sucked. you order a ufc ppv and almost every fight you watch is great. dec 27th nogueira vs mir, forrest griffin vs rashad evans, rampage vs vanderlei silva; incredible fights.

I think the UFC has just enough talent to put on an awesome PPV once a month. That's perfect for me.

I'm not the only one who agrees with my earlier statement

Nature Boy:
quote:

It's definitely watering down the market, since a lot of the guys you see in some of these smaller promotions have no business in the ring at the professional level. If you're a fan of MMA, though, you've got to be happy about the huge rise in success.

Charlotte Tiger:
quote:

I love MMA but it has definitely gotten watered down with all the different organizations out there. IMO the IFL is garbage and so is that crap that Chuck Norris is trying to hype.

SprintFun:
quote:

Reminds me of the poker boom on TV about 5-6 years ago.

hobo with a rolex:
quote:

i love watching it but it does get confusing with all the weight classes and champions from the different leagues i prefered the original tourny style with all weight classes competing against each other, i thought it was more entertaining

Smackdaniels:
quote:

At one time, it might have been oversaturated. Last year all at the same time, they had the IFL (Fox Sports), Elite XC (CBS), Iron Ring (BET), UFC (Spike TV), UFC Wired (Channel 10 on Cox), WEC (Versus), UFC All Acess (MTV)

So in my mind seeing all the reruns of ultimate fighter, hearing a radio show in dallas called rearnaked radio(mma talk), being forced to watch a bum called kimbo slice on saturday nights at my bar, and the spike fights, the wec scheduleand on top of that I get to see it on ppv. Working in a bar I see it almost every time I look up..

being forced

I'm not going back in this thread and copy and paste how many times we said Elite XC and Kimbo Slice are done.

C'mon guy, pay attention. I know that they are gone..but from this year..yes 2008. I have had to watch them in the bar..you are a little dense in the head if you are unable to comprehend what I am getting at...

too much mma..too fast..it will loose it's luster if it is on too much. I don't want it to loose it's luster..I want UFC and mma to be respected and not to be looked at as a bunch of goobers who have no discipline and lack of cardiovascular development that are thrown into a cage to butt heads and get away winning when every throw is a haymaker. When have you ever seen anything about UFC in the newspaper??? Never! You see boxing in there all the time..Why? because it is looked at as a respectable sport not a gimmick..

Whoa whoa whoa. Boxing is known for fixed fights, shady promoters, and bullshite way more then UFC is. and Smackdaniels actually writes the MMA column for the Baton Rouge Advocate if I'm not mistaken.

too a certain extent..there were reruns at the bar and we came home around four a.m. and were flipping around on the tv there was still UFC on at 4..it's everywhere I go. So I thought I would write about it unbeknownst to me that people on here don't really agree..I guess it was just building up

Don't make SmackDaniels angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

BTW, he writes for The Advocate. Not sure if you were saying The Advocate was crap or that you thought he wrote for some small time rag.
