assume that Darius Miles and others started talking shite AFTER Miller got there.
This doesn't make sense with the timeline of him asking Miller to bring the gun because there is a confrontation

It is a bit confusing but I'd say Miller is in the clear if these things are to be true and corroborated by video (Dashboard Cam) and text message (which his attorney says they can)
- No Jeep on Grace Street when Miller pulled up.
- No text message showing an altercation to take place.
- Miller didn't know anything that would happen.
- Miller didn't get out of the car.
- Miller didn't touch the weapon.
Then the District Attorney says no charges and he has provided video, text, and interviews.

I mean I don't think the text messages even say there is an altercation. I think it's still pretty open ended.
quote:
Culpepper said Miles texted Miller in the early morning hours saying, “I need my joint,” which is slang for a gun, police said.
Miles and Davis walked to Miller’s car and got something - believed to be the gun - out of the back seat, according to testimony.
Miles told Davis, “The heat is in the hat,” Culpepper testified.
That statement, he said, meant that meant a gun was present.
Miles added, “There’s one in the head.” That, Culpepper said, meant a round was in the chamber.

The walk-on has a job to do and that’s to make sure everyone is safe before Miller walks into the stadium.
Of all people, Miller should want to stay away from this type of behavior. Joking about this situation is a pathetic look.
This kid seems to be feeding off this and that’s not a good sign.
Cold blooded.

Think you have some facts skewed by mistake.
Testimony from the hearing revealed the following:
quote:
Testimony from today’s court hearing show all involved had gone to Twelve25 Sports Bar that night.
Miller dropped Miles off at the club but did not stay because the line was too long.
After leaving the club, Harris, her boyfriend, Cedric Johnson, and her first cousin, Asia Humphrey, stopped at a nearby grill to get something to eat.
It was then they encountered Davis, who was dancing in front Harris’s Jeep.
quote:
According to Miles’ defense attorney Mary Turner, Miles texted Miller at 1:38 a.m. the day of the shooting, saying “I need my joint [gun] a n****r rl jus got a fakin.”
This indicates a confrontation has started.
quote:
Two vehicles - a Dodge Charger and a Dodge Challenger that belonged to Miles’ teammates, Miller and Bradley - were blocking the road where the Jeep was parked.

I hadn't seen that entire quote. So thanks for sharing that.
Yea, I still think there is some things that have to be cleared up. Especially this part...

Defense attorney says that there is video corroborating that the Jeep pulled behind Brandon.
As usual, two sides of every story. We will find out soon enough.

I do appreciate the conversation and discussion rather than folks just talking out of their arse (like usual).

Didn't the DA decline to press charges?

Yes, DA said there is nothing to charge Brandon Miller with.

Honest question, and not a Browns fan (not that it matters). The cops testified he gave the killer the gun, right? Again, why isn't he under arrest?
Jay Bilas, the voice of college basketball, and a litigating lawyer and attorney, with his own practice said it best:
“Brandon Miller has rights. The authorities have told Alabama he’s a witness, not a suspect. There’s no indication that he has violated any law. They know him better than we do, and if they didn’t take action 5 weeks ago or so when this horrible tragedy happened, I don’t see any reason to do it now. Now, if something else comes out I understand it, but to me, if he were held out of competition now that would be Alabama saying ‘Our reputation as a university and what people say about us is more important than our player.’ I think they’ve balanced the player and the university and those interests pretty well overall.”
There you have it. The voice of college basketball and a working lawyer said it best.
Now, who can handle the truth on the RANT? Entirely different question.

Bilas has no direct knowledge of the investigation so I really don't care what he thinks or has to say.
What the defense attorney and district attorney have said is much more meaningful.
I agree with Bama's decision to let him play.

yeah no problem. Believe it or not I don’t actually have any animosity towards your basketball program as prior to all this a part of me thought it was very cool how the state we both live in has come to be represented by solid basketball programs when they were both so awful growing up. That being said…

This I can definitely see. As far as I know, I don't think that Miller actually knew that there was an altercation. He also didn't know that Miles was going to get the gun and hand it to someone else.
I’ve said that I think he read the contents of the text message based on my prior reasoning, and therefore I think he knew there was some sort of animosity between parties and the firearm in his car was being requested.
I don’t think it’s fair to say he knew the gun would be used to actually murder an innocent third party, but I hold to my opinion that by facilitating its transfer in these circumstances he acted with gross negligence and this negligence facilitated a murder. I do think there is a degree of moral culpability associated with this type of negligence.
I don’t know if Miller is actually a person of poor character but I think he made some decisions a person of poor character would make that night. As a human being it is my hope that (1) I’m either grossly mistaken which might be true but seems unlikely given how things have been presented or (2) he did make these mistakes and learns from this to associate with better people and use common sense in the future. He’s what, 18? He has many years in front of him and will obviously be a person of enormous means, assuming he learns/exercises common sense, and can do a lot of good in the world with those means.
I personally think Alabama should have sat him for some length of time to emphasize the standard of conduct expected for people representing the institution. People have been sat for far less in the past.
This is just my perspective on the matter.

When something like this happens opposing fand are going to give you shite about it. You aren't personally involved, don't worry about it so much. Just give them shite when one of their jocks is involved in something embarrassing.

Aye. I don't care one bit. I just like to call a spade a spade. 99% of posts are troll posts. It's pretty awesome when actual dialog and discussion occurs.
With that being said; I too like to troll.
