Believe that when I see it.

If they don't do anything in FA other than buy decent relievers, I'll be happy.

The ML club will likely be even worse next year if that's even possible.

Possibly Ryno, but I doubt it....IF they address the bullpen.
There will be some serious competition in the outfield, and between Wallace/Carter and an early summer call up from Singleton, that will be a good core lineup...albeit very young.
They'll start terribly, but get better toward the end of next season.
Now...if they don't bring in some major league relievers, then same old shite, different year.

plug in Singleton for Wallace,
I wouldn't have said this at the beginning of the year, but No.
Singleton is getting eaten alive in AAA

We've already established this Prom.
And FTR...he's not getting eaten alive. He's only been playing for 2 months this season when everybody has played 4 months. Yes, that's his own fault, but that's the reason

Not really, we would be lucky if it is considered top 20.

Yeah, I noticed. I'm just getting caught up on the thread.

Did you get caught up in the afternoon work meeting barrage like me? I missed both trades when the news broke.

Maybe, but if the team looks like it's going to be decent, then I don't think the FO will have a problem signing FA's and spending money.
There's also Correa (derp) Preston Tucker, Max Stassi, Domingo Santana (who I think will eventually be a solid DH)

After the trades broke, I had work to do

frick. Everything I've said has already been covered.
I quit.

That's what I don't think some people realize. We aren't Pittsburgh or Kansas City where this homegrown talent is going to be the complete nucleus of the team. I have little doubt that once there is a reason to spend money in FA Luhnow will do so to supplement the talent coming out of the system

Yeah the prospects will start to arrive next year. Springer will be up in September. Cosart should stay in the rotation. Villar will probably get a long look at short. Folty and Appel should get a chance at some point. Singleton should be up after starting the season at OKC.

I'll be honest, if he continues to play like he has since the call up, I have no problem with Villar staying at SS. He's a spark we haven't seen in a long while.
It's a small sample size right now being 8-9 games in, but if he can keep the numbers he has right now at or about the same, i'll be happy.
He needs to cut down on the K's, obviously.

After it's all said, the Astros have acquired (with their current position in top 20 prospects list)
Josh Hader LHP (13) [[5 at Orioles]]
Kyle Smith RHP (15) [[11 at Royals]]
L.J. Hoes OF (18) [[7 at Orioles]]
Danry Vasquez OF (19) [[4 at Tigers]]

I assume Hader will report to Quad Cities. That team is loaded with young, high upside prospects.

Comcast should pick up Quad Cities games in place of the Astros. That's the team worth watching.
