"According to yall's rules you should follow the Zephyrs"

a) The zephyrs weren't around in New Orleans then and B) I'm not a fan of the brewers, mets, astros, marlins, expos

only team I could actually follow growing up since it was before the days of every team being on TV every night.

So what is the difference between this and someone like kracka or whoever growing up liking NC basketball or another schools bball team? I think it's funny that there are quite a few posters on here calling out the people who are fans of a basketball team they have no affiliation with, yet they are the same posters who came on my thread a few months back telling me about being a "die hard" cubs/braves fan even though they were born in Louisiana and have zero affiliation with their favorite baseball team.

If I were a bandwagoner too I could say this too. Saw Syracuse win a national title in baskeball, LSU in football. I'll just be a syracuse fan now to say this

You know, I am trying to be playful, and not really get too bothered about this whole thing, it can be fun. But you've already made one comment that chapped my arse, your really coming off as a dick, and if your going to be like that, just go play in traffic.

That team that went to the tournament in 95 was ridiculous. King, Jackson, little Ray Washington, Slim, TC...they were badass

So much for getting him in fall of 2012. So the whole family is back in South Florida?

Were the academics at RHS too challenging?

I didn't grow up in a MLB city and root for a random MLB team. I rooted for the team that could most fit as my "hometown team" giving me the ability to watch every game and I had the summers in which I go to games. I didn't just pick a team becasue they were good. If New Orleans had a MLB team they would be my team. If I grew up in BR and couldn't get into college LSU would be my team.

You should have made up some rumors about Lawson's injury being very serious. You could have said you were friends with one of the student trainers and he blabbed about the severity of the injury when he was drunk on Franklin Street.

Reggie Jackson?

I think that was 94. But Slim was on that team. Jackson was a beast. He came play some pickup games with us. They won conference and went to the dance the season before I transferred. Bad thing was, Ricky Broussard wanted me to walk on there, but I chose the scholly from Juco. I kicked myself all year for that choice.

ok, and i'm pretty sure many people who are fans of a different college baskatball team didn't grow up going to LSU. They probably went the elementry,jr high, highschool rout so once they got to LSU, why can't they like more than one team if they followed them their whole life? According to you if NO had a baseball team you would like the NO team but does that mean that you would start hating the Cubs? Yet you call people like Kracka out for this exact same thing.

Your right. It's been so long I can't get the years right.

Great guy and a great coach. He and my dad were tight when he was coaching at North Vermillion. I saw him at the Top 28 last week. He is a big wig for State Farm i believe.

For what its worth I'll cheer for UNC in basketball when they are not playing LSU. But I'm LSU through and through

I would never be a UNC basketball fan over LSU basketball

None of this would be an issue if I were a UNC fan but cheering for LSU tomorrow just because I live in Louisiana.

really?

"They probably went the elementry,jr high, highschool rout so once they got to LSU, why can't they like more than one team if they followed them their whole life?"

I grew up in New Orleans as a Tulane fan becasue I was able to go to all their games in all sports. Not just a UNC basketball fan, Miami football fan, pick and choose your top team in each sport. Then I went to LSU and became an LSU fan. I don't hate Tulane now and I root for them like I do all state schools in Louisiana because I'm from Louisiana.

"According to you if NO had a baseball team you would like the NO team but does that mean that you would start hating the Cubs?"

no it means I would have been a NO fan to begin with
